I tend to suck, so I'm just slowly moving through it. Hadn't actually played it since the week it came out until today. Beat a handful of levels in Chapter 2 till I ran into one that kept cheaping out on me.

Shame they're getting pirated all over the place

@john: a minor correction, there will be no wii retail release, just wiiware. the pc version will have both a digital and retail release.

@cliffski: exactly right. last we checked the piracy rate was about 90%.

that's really a shame. People keep talking about how much of a deal Orange Box is but Goo at $15 has a great bang/buck ratio.

Oh but remember - over half this site doesn't think piracy isn't a big issue, and can back it up with such brilliant justifications as "it's a victimless crime," or "I wasn't going to buy it anyway," or "they'll never catch me," or "it's their fault for making me want it," or "it's their fault for not putting in better DRM," or "it's Nintendo's fault for letting me hack my system," or any of the other bullshit excuses that helps you not think of yourself as a total waste of space.

I played World of Goo on my friend's Wii. It is a surprisingly fun physics-based puzzle game. I hope 2d Boy makes another game---and embeds DRM.

I picked this up with a points card my wife bought me for the holidays (yay, wifey!) - it lives up to the hype. So much fun.

I think this will be my first Wii Store purchase. I have 10000 Wii points sitting around that I bought during a TRU sale ($12 for 2000).

you know i haven't touched this beyond the first chapter and maybe 3 levels and i consider it will worth the funds I spent. I should really get back to it when head back to Canada and I'll be bored.

Well I tried the demo on steam, my question is does it get that much more amazing after chapter 1. It's not like I didn't enjoy the demo, but there was something about it that to me didn't seem worth the $15. I didn't get the wow this is amazing effect I got off portal with this game, but I might consider it if it really does get more amazing.

The story picks up after chapter one, as do the challenge from the puzzles. New types of goo are introduced, and the sign painter get wackier and wackier. Damn, I need to finish chapter 3/4.

I've been playing it a level at a time for a while -- great game. I think I'd get really bored if I tried to play a lot at once... it belongs on DS.

Re: DRM, totally disagree. DRM isn't going to make a difference to pirates, it's just a hassle for legit buyers. Hell, pirating a game with DRM is *easier* than buying a legit copy because the pirate can copy-paste the generated CD-key while the purchaser has to copy it manually. I can't tell you how many times I've cursed my monitor after miskeying a character in a 26-key CD-key. Those things are the devil. DRM is the devil. 2D Boy made the right choice on not included it, and I hope that continue that in future games.

I skipped my way to chapter 4. Damn this is amazing. I really like the elements introduced so far. Although some of them are a big you and really luck based.

Can you claim you "beat it" while at the same time admitting you skipped a bunch of levels?

I played the Experimental Game even before the actual game came to light. I guess I should be proud.

Yeah, I go this in WiiWare; it's quite fun. You can actually play with 3 other people and co-operate to finish the stages. Or screw them up by removing an important support structure

Well, I didn't complete it. I reached the ending. Now I have to go back to EarthBound or Strell will kill me with a Mr. Saturn. I'm sure he'd find a way.

I don't know if I said anything about this one yet.

It's easy: World of Goo is the ing bomb. Bought it twice, on the Wii and on a PC, and I have no problem paying 2D Boy my moneys.

Piracy is a topic I prefer not to get too much into. There are things I find to be morally acceptable to pirate, and there are things I do not. World of Goo is most certainly in the latter category.

I love this game, and I find it genius and incredible. We're very lucky to have it on the Wii, for this is the closest our console will come to offering something against 360's exclusive Braid.

DRM: whoever pointed out that it does not prevent piracy and -does- make life of legitimate customers shitty is 100% correct. The important bit is that it BOTH sucks for people who pay and does not prevent others from pirating - thus it should be done away with.

EDIT:

Apparently, I -DID- say quite a ing lot about this game on page 3... Sorry, my memory is not what it used to be due to uh, what is it called? Marijuana? No. ing school.

Goo is so good you don't even need to play the entire game. Plus a few years down the road when you're waxing nostalgic about all the games you used to play when you get to Goo it'll be like finding new Mario World levels.
