Bought this game earlier in the year. Easily one of the best games I've bought on DS in a long time. Game is a steal @ $20 new.

They said they wouldn't bring it over unless RGC saw a serious sales increase. This price drop might do that. Low chances, but possible.

RGC was one of those games I just plowed through in a week, devouring every minute. It even rekindled my love of JRPGs. I recommend it to any real gamers out there.

From what it sounds like on this thread, that chance that the sequel would be coming out here seems pretty high, with every thread being either "I went out and bought it." or "I heartily recommend this game."

By the way, I'm in the former category. I ordered it from Amazon 2 days ago. Should be coming in by Thursday. (Along with Cross Edge at $40 for the free shipping and on the basis that Cross Edge probably won't drop, much like Chaos Wars.)

I don't think CAG gets to be the deciding factor as to whether or not it gets released. XSEED has said that they're not doing it, because it didn't sell; why wouldn't you believe them?

I know. That's why I said from what it sounds like on this thread. Whether or not this thread actually matters in the grand scheme of things at XSeed is an entirely different matter.

I would certainly hope we see the sequel, but so far our chances look slim.

Retro Game Challenge started off well but still hasn't gotten to the point where we can justify bringing over the sequel. It's amazing how many people write to thank us for publishing that game, so perhaps as those enthusiast fans continue to spread the word we will get to where we need to be eventually.

I wish that they would tell us what the threshold is for RGC1 in order to bring over RGC2. Also, did the Japanese version of RGC1 have an English option? I might actually import the 2nd one.

I'm just going to chime in that if you grew up in the 8 bit era and hold fond memories from years ago then this game is more than likely for you. And, for $20, it really is a steal.

Even if there is a magical number that sales had to get to in order to warrant RGC2, it's taken SO long to get there, I can't see it as being a good business decision. If it had passed that number in the first month, there's definitely sales potential for the sequel. But this... no, that number has been rendered moot if they have any sense. That ship has sailed, and they're just saying that to placate people (and drum up however more sales they can eke out by saying it).

No English on either game. My buddy imported the sequel, and it's all Japanese.

Interview was from a couple months ago. There's still hope. And there are other publishers out there -- like Ignition Entertainment (Blue Dragon+, Muramasa, Nostalgia).

I grew up in the 8-bit era, but ours was a Commodore 64 household. Still, I'm seriously tempted to pick this up. While I'd normally go used to save a few bucks, this might be worth getting new as a way to support the developer and encourage them to bring the sequel.

This game is a must purchase title at 20 dollarts. I bought it at 30 dollars, and have no regrets.

To each his own. I've played it much longer than necessary. There's still a couple games I haven't been able to beat without using codes.

Called just about every GS and no sealed copies, I hate the display ones because a million kids have grubbied them up. Walked into Fry's, they had 5 or 6 copies on the shelf @ $19.80.

EXACTLY this! Really fun game, and a blast for those old schools gamers.

Really had a good time with this one. Hoping for a sequel.

Great game, good price. I loved the care and detail put into all the games and extras.
The TV show looks like it's awesome, could only find like 2 translated clips on the internet though.
As for buying it new, why not? Doesn't seem super likely the sequel will be localized, but you never know. Maybe Atlus might pick it up one day. But I can't talk, bought it used myself during the last 20% off used DS gamestop coupon.
