(DEAD) Ebay DotD 9/14: 12 Month XBL Gold Subscription Card $29.99 (From Buy.com)

Surprised to see no one posted this yet, but ebay's DotD has rolled around to another 29.99 for 12 months of XBL. And of course, the seller is buy.com again, and they're a pretty respectable company.

Thanks, grabbed one. Didn't bother with Bing, rather save those for larger purchases.

I'm pretty sure you can stack a few years of Live Subscription with these even if your current one has not expired yet.

It stacks like Martketplace points. You could buy 5 of these- plug in the codes for all 5 and be paid up for 5 years. You do not have to renew only when your membership is up. If you ever get a game (even an old xbox 1 game) that has a month of free xbox live- input the code- it will probably work- and will stack another month of XBL service on to your account. Assuming M$ treats live like they did from xbox 1 to 360- you will carry over your membership from system to system as well.

I think MS will have a much harder time convincing people to pay for Xbox LIVE now that PS3 slim is $299 and PSN is free. I mean you can play your online games for free on PSN, why pay anymore $$ out-of-pocket to play them. I think more and more Xbox 360 players, like myself, are considering the PS3 slim purchase, and giving MS the middle finger.

Go ahead and make more online content Gold exclusives, *censored* MS.

here's an idea, make Xbox LIVE free for all owners, convert those prepaid subscriptions into MS points. then really go up against Sony. I mean, GOW III is on its way, and GOW I & II are getting remade, so yeah I might just go get myself a PS3 slim now.

Snagged a couple of these. My subscription expired next month, so it's good timing for me ^.^

I assume you meant if you buy the card from this deal?? Never use a one-month before?? If you input the code, it just adds 12 months. To my knowledge you could enter 5 codes in a row and you'd be set for 5 years, no limits or regulations...

While I agree in principle, as someone who's owned a PS3 for two years and a 360 for about a month I have to say that it's probably worth the money for the difference in service at this point. Especially at $30.

Obviously it depends on what you're playing and how much you play online, but there retail games *cough*50 cent*cough* released for PS3 in 2009 that don't have voice chat, regardless of what it says on the back of the box. It's ridiculous.

I greatly prefer PS3, and it's probably my favorite console of all time (since mine plays PS2 games it's kind of no contest, sorry SNES), but 360's party chat, ability to press the guide button to read messages rather than all the menus and out-of-order nonsense on PS3, and more consistent online experience probably is worth $30-40/year even though it should be free.

Nice. I've still got another few months before I need to renew, but I don't see it going any lower than this any time soon, so may as well pick one up now.

In case anyone was wondering, you can buy up to three of them, which isn't stated anywhere in the item description that I can find.

Ms doesn't care if one person doesn't buy Live. The fact that they still have 12 plus million people still paying for Live means they will continue to charge for Live until someone abandons the fact.
