huge nhl fan here and this may be the most dissapointing arcade game ive ever played, along with the newly released nba one which looks like it was thrown together in about 2 days. I know arcade games arent supposed to rival retail discs but good god.

Don't listen to the 5.9 review. If you love the old NHL Hitz games, you'll like it. It's a pretty fun game, especially at 400 MS points.

Just download the demo, that should make up your mind quick enough.

how's the online play though? is is steady, laggy or what? also, will you be able to find a match or will it be like other xbla games that make it rare to find someone to play with or against online. another thing, how long will you be able to play this for? heard something about them having the right to discontinue the online part of the game at any time if they want to just like with battlefield 1943.

I liked it. I bought it a while ago... it has most of the more popular players and as the title says, its 3on3 not including the goalies. There are power-ups in it that can make it a ton of fun like freezing an opponent into a ice cube or them slipping on a banana peel. It was always easy to get a game on xbox live when I played, but I havent played it in a while.

It's an ok game to play against someone else.

It's pretty fun. Worth picking up.

Well worth 400 points. The IGN review is off base.

The achievements are super easy ... I finished the game in a little less than two hours, only thing that sucks is one of the achievements requires three controllers to accomplish (Team Player – Play a quick ranked match with two guests – 50 GS Points), guitars can be substituted for extra controllers.

It's a fun game. I bought it the day it came out (live and breathe hockey). It's a game that I can play with the kids and we all have fun with it. The special arcade like power ups are fun, shrink the goalie, super speed, make your player giant, freeze other players and more stuff like that. Haven't played online with it that much though so I can't vouch for that aspect of it. I'd highly recommend it for 400pts.

After the 2008-2009 season? Wasn't that last year's season? So is there any online play with this game or not? I guess even if there is they could pull the plug on it any day now.
