So how is APB? I tried playing on my old core 2 duo system and it ran like crap so I waited till I built this but the beta was over by then.

Man, I really need a new video card and that GTX275 looks pretty tempting.

And just an FYI, you can get $25 off purchases over $200 if you use the coupon code "FBJUL25." Found that on their facebook page. It says "Limited while funds last" though. So I'll have to make up my mind here pretty soon.

Hey guys, if you remembered my final rig I wanted the Creative S750 as my 7.1 P.C. speakers, but unfortunately they are unavailable everywhere I look.

I did a bit more searching and researching and there are no other 7.1 P.C. Speakers Set (I do not want home theater sets). I have decided to replace it with the Logitech Z-5500 5.1 P.C. speakers, seeing how it seems to be the best P.C. Speaker Set next to 7.1 speakers and seems really great for video gaming.

What are your thoughts on the Z-5500?

Well, a little update. My comp is in the shop right now, getting it looked at to find out EXACTLY what is wrong. Should have it back around Monday or so, the wait sucks!

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could check out this potential build and tell me what they think:

http://amzn.com/w/1Q52GKGRB3O2H

I've never built a pc before and have been using a mac laptop for the last six years, so I'm VERY new at this. Any input or changes would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the amazon wishlist but I have credit there and wasn't sure of neweggs tax policy. Thanks in advance.

its a good build, a little pricey. without looking id imagine you can cut off at least $100 or more by getting a different video card and power supply.

I'd spend more on a better case w/ better wiring routing through the back.
People tend to forget that cases and PSU last the longest out of any component in a computer. You can bring both into at least 2 builds and sometimes Cases into even more.

And ditto on the Z-5500's they are very nice. Only thing I wish is that it had more optical ports and you could remove the stupid stands for mounting.

Very close to my system, which I think is very nice.

I have

Diamond HD5850
Logitech MX518 (also a MS Sidewinder gaming mouse)
Microsoft Natural KB 4000 (also a MS X6 KB)

rest are similar.

WD Caviar Black 750GB
Corsair PS
Cooler Master HAF 922
Gateway FHD2401 24" monitor

I went with Intel i7 920
ASUS MB
6GB OCZ Plat memory

Hey everyone my friend has a pentium 4 (2.4GHz) processor and trying to run Left 4 Dead 2. I gave him my old videocard (GeFroce 8 series ) so he could play L4D2 but he said that there wasnt a connector on the motherboard that fit the videocard . Does this mean he needs to get a new motherboard ? and if so should he go ahead and upgrade the CPU in his machine ?

I tried showing him a super cheap build that could run it decently ( around $400 ) but he laughed at it and said he was broke. so what should he do ?

P.S. He probably does not have that much money to spend so keep that in mind.

any help would be great

Yes, he needs a new mobo and cpu... and everything else for that matter.

What he should do if he's broke and wants to play L4D2? Use someone else's computer

I think I'm going to start building a PC, piece by piece, over the next month or so. Is this a good deal for a case/psu/hd combo?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.441302

It's getting a 30 MIR at 3am apparently.
