GameStop Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition now $39.99 at GS

[If repost, sorry, please delete]

360 and PS3 versions are both $39.99. Could've sworn it was still $59.99 just a few days ago.

It wasn't worth the $10-15 I think I paid from Sears for the GOTY or the 2-3 PS3 games I traded my one buddy for his copy of the original.

Then again, that's largely cuz I'm not into shooter games w/ RPG elements to them.

I hated Oblivion too, which Bethesda also released.

Why would I pay $60 when I can pay $40? While I'm in this train of thought anyone know about any coupon codes to make this even cheaper?

I think Fallout 3 is excellent - I beat the game twice and will pick up the GOTY edition soon to play through it again.

FWIW, I thought GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption, otherwise known as GTA IV - Wild West Edition, were garbage (I see you have an image of the game under your name).

Just goes to show that everyone has different tastes.

- Don't refer to me as dude, this isn't the 80s
- I have the original & not paying more than $30 for the DLC altogether. If I could rent, I would have done that a long time ago like I did with Oblivion's GoTY disc but I cancelled Gamefly years ago for money reasons.

Actually, I bought the copy of the original FO3 for PS3 for my friend, but then I wanted to try it out, so I traded him 2-3 $5 HWV sale games for it.

Then he was looking for a copy of it back and Sears had the GOTY on clearance for $14.97 or so at the time, but he couldn't scrape up the cash for it, so I sold the copies I bought(including one for another CAG who also didn't get the cash together)to other CAG's.

So because I said I thought FO3 was a horrible shooter w/ RPG elements, you have to shoot back an insult towards Red Dead Redemption? Like you said in the last sentence of your post, everyone has different tastes.

I might've liked FO3 if it were a bit more sandbox-y. It seemed too much like 'go here talk to X dude, go there get item X dude wanted, run all the way back with Y item for X dude, mission complete after 20 f'n hours'.

Don't get me wrong. I love long games, but games that add in 20 billion fetch quests to pad their hour count aren't fun.

Who are you to tell people how to speak? Try not being so uptight... you might enjoy life more.

GTA IV took me an hour longer than Fallout.

I think technically it's an RPG with shooter elements. If you play it like a shooter, I do imagine it's pretty boring since there's about five enemies.

It's just the original with a second disc. So yes, until you update it.

This is actually what I liked most about Fallout 3 when I played it (I'm thinking of picking up the GOTY edition today) was wandering around looking at all the cool locations. I didn't start trying to follow the story until like 5 hours in.

Is this true? Otherwise I'll just pick up the Addon packs from Gamestop the next time a B2G1 is running.

edit: answered up top.

I may actually give it another shot, if I ever get through the rest of my backlog, since I was playing on an SDtv at the time and the game world was pretty dark on that.

So that was another detrimental factor that hindered me trying to get into the game, but that wasn't the game's fault(though it seems most post apocalyptic games are dull/dark/dreary/shades of grey n black)as much as it was me not wanting to adjust my brightness and contrast on my tv I still use for watching tv.
