There was a story on 848 (NPR) about the 25th anniversary today and I got so nostalgic I came home and looked for a video or DVD about the '85 season. Can't find exactly what I'm looking for. Anybody know of something good?

I concur. I think this would be a good date, too. That place in Evanston sounds pretty good to me. I'm not far from there, either. Otherwise, I'm up for just about anything. I like that it's shortly after Black Friday.

Okay we're getting closer now. Nov 27-28 or Dec 4-5, any of those days sound cool to me. Whichever one gets the biggest crowd. Bat17 sounds like a cool place to go and have a few beers, but doesn't lend itself to a long-ish type of meetup. Prices are sorta high for some cheapasses too. It depends what you guys are in the mood for. A meet/greet/swap hour or two, or the same plus play games for another 1-10 hours, as long as you want to stay. Plus if you want food you can leave and get free re-entry at Galloping Ghost, with a Mcdonalds, Burger King, pizza places, bars, and more a few blocks away. Or someone suggest more places too. I'm pretty much up for anything I guess. I'll also offer that I live in the Wrigleyville area and would be willing to carpool/pick-up anyone on the way who couldn't make it otherwise. Just expect to stay awhile if it's indeed GG, cause I like to get my money's worth.

I vote for the arcade again. Should be a good time to go because people should have a lot of BF stuff to trade.

The arcade would be fine with me.

I have been working on my "Games Organization Project of 2010", so I have been sorting through all my GS finds as well as boxes of games I forgot I bought.

The arcade referenced is the one in Brookfield, right?

Friday at 6 pm the tv show 190N will be filming a feature on galloping ghost arcade. I'll be in Naperville during the day and will be tempted to stop in there since it's on my way home. Holding tournaments that day too. If anyone is interested, maybe I'lll see you there.

Try to get on TV repping CAG somehow.

I did end up swinging by the arcade for a few hours today. The 190N episode is airing Sunday the 21st I believe. I'm pretty sure it airs in the morning and again late at night, but I haven't checked it out in awhile. Was kinda hoping Doug Banks would be there so I could meet him, but nope, I didn't recognize any kind of hosts. The camera crew hung around for hours fliming people playing the machines. I was filmed at some point playing Ms. Pac-Man and I'm sure at other times in the background or behind my back unknowingly. Should be interesting to see what makes the show and what gets edited off. One of the actors from the Mortal Kombat games was there too and they had an MKII tournament going on which he was there to watch. Cool stuff. I wish I had some kind of slick CAG merchandise like a t-shirt of something to pimp the site, but alas, I was unsure how to do it. I guess I could've made a sign and held it up behind an interview but I didn't want to come off like one of those obnoxious ass clowns either. Anyway, always a fun time and look forward to going back again.

Twice this month I've seen people with barcode scanner accessories at thrift stores. I feel like I'm missing out.

They are everywhere. I looked into it in 2002 or 2003 (and again recently), but most of the services charge too much.

It is better to know your craft.

The Borders downtown on State Street is closing. Everything in the store is at 20% right now. I talked to someone who worked there and they said the store should be closed the first week of January. It's a great time to get some books because they have a ton of stuff there. Once it hits 50-60% it's going to be great.

I know. I'm in there every week before class and it's always packed. I guess no one actually buys anything though. I can't blame them. Borders wouldn't be going out of business if they didn't charge such a ridiculous amount for their books.

People know that they have weekly coupons for 20-40 percent.

Random, but does anybody need the Bioshock 2 Limited Edition for Xbox? I grabbed it like three months ago from Target on clearance and it's still in the package. Did the buy-and-think-about-it, but it's been over three months now so I can't return it and I decided I dont really want it after all.

If nobody else bites, I guess I could try to return it without receipt for credit, right?
