Also here is a little something to keep a look out for if any of you are looking for good deals on games in their ad starting today.

When I was in late last night, they had put out in a bin some of the newsed (aka gutted) games that are on special this week for $10-30 off but also mixed in a few used copies of those games with the same doller amount off of the used price. Since MW2 for PS3 is $20 off new price in the ad they took $20 off the used price of $29.99 so I got it for $10, but it gets better. Since it was used, it qualified for the B2G1 that started yesterday for Pro Rewards members. I paried it up with COD: WOW for PS3 (also an ad item) and COD 4 for 360.

All told I bought the following games for only $18 total ($6 each average)

COD: Modern Warfare 2 (PS3)
COD: World at War (PS3)
COD4: Modern Warfare (Xbox 360)

Updated lists and database.

I figure it was probably either disc/case condition or that local store wont take it anymore. If they are still taking Madden 07s, they'll still take WWE games that old as well. Some districts do put in random items like that.

It's probably something that the employees at the stores in that district were told to do. waht really sucks about refurb fees is that it rings up as you buying something for 2-3$ and they charge you tax on that. wtf?!??!!!?!?!

Disc was find. Employee told me he tried to ring it up and something came up on the computer saying they would lose money if they took it in.

That normally means they have put a refurb fee on the disc and it doesn't cover the TIV.

That's why I look at my receipt and/or ask if I'm being a charged a fee before leaving the store. If I'm charged a fee, then they damn well better re-do that transaction and remove the fee or give me my game back. That's why I know which stores around here to avoid and which to go to with questionable games(disc only, scratched up).

It's never come up as that at the stores around here. It may be something that they do in your state.

oh, i love the smell of a new thread!

but yeah, traded in a couple of games today. seems like a lot of the game TIVs are dropping. the drops i've encounted were about 1 or 2 bucks. also, found out that the DJ Hero 2 Bundle for 50 bucks (gamestops website) is also the same price in stores. so probably gonna pick that up.

This. And luckily for me, the closest store to me is one of the better ones in the area. It could possibly be because they know me, but a lot of times I see them do a double take when checking the discs, and then kinda shrug lol. A couple of the guys at that store don't even check the discs when I trade stuff in. Very cool.
