What Indiana Jones minifig collection? Sounds like something I must have, especially for $10!

Ambush in Cairo. I also saw the bigger sets last month at a TRU Express but I was broke.

Ah. Okay. I have that one. I saw the other three sets at the TRUs near me recently as well. Wish they'd find some Batman sets lying around!

Wait a few years and IJ might be worth as much as Batman. Batman wasn't really hard to find and then all of a sudden they disappeared and the prices went through the roof.

I'm hoping for more LEGO Batman and IJ and Harry Potter games just to continue the sets and cheap the prices for the parts and minifigures down. Plus I really like Batman.

I actually really liked the Harry Potter game, probably my favorite of the LEGO games.
And the IJ sets are starting to go up already. Nothing like the Batman sets are now, but I could easily see these sets (that seemed to sit around for so long) ending up quite the collectible in a couple years. The terribleness of the most recent IJ movie I think really hurt sales of the classic movie sets, which should be in demand for years to come because the first three IJ movies are ing amazing.

*Bow's down to husher, I'm that bad too though >_< I don't have an eclectic collection as yours though. I stick with a few themes to make sure I don't overbuy because I will buy and continue to buy the entire theme.

I wish Lucas would have put Indiana Jones on Blu-Ray first instead of Star Wars.

The other day at Wal-Mart I picked up a Lego watch for 7 bucks, but I didn't look at the packaging hard enough to realize the Count Dooku minifig was stolen. fuuuuu

I also got an Atlantis Wreck Raider for 5 bucks. The tanker truck was in the clearance aisle but came up regular price, along with the Mega Bloks and knockoff bricks.

I bought a Midi Scale Star Destroyer last month for 16. Think it will appreciate in value in the next couple years?

Star Wars usually hold it's value, that sucks on the watch. I don't think Wal-Mart will give you a problem giving your money back. I noticed a bunch of them like that when I was buying them.

Also, hello, first post.
Welcome, and thanks for the info. So I guess that means they probably won't drop lower than 50% off either...

To see if it has a chance at 50%, you could always do what I did back when I worked at Toys R Us in high school. Most places like Target, WalMart and Toys R Us have a bottom panel on their shelving that is elevated from the floor by about 4-5 inches. It's a little too easy to lift that panel up, slide a product in there and then wait, as it cycles through the many markdowns. No one ever bothers to check them because they're not used by the stores for storage, it's just part of the shelf design. I may or may not have gotten a number of cheap toys that later turned into collectibles.

I know, it's a gray line of ethics, and this was a number of years ago, but it did provide some guaranteed great deals.

LEGO doesn't take back merchandise from retailers for credit. For Target at least, if a clearance items doesn't sell @ 75% all stores send the merchandise to a centralized warehouse. From there, it either gets resold to wholesale accounts or gets donated for a write-off.

Years ago when I worked at TRU we reorganized the layout of the shelves, and when we took them apart many were stuffed full of Star Wars action figures. Turned out to be a waste of time for that person though, Star Wars toys from the late 90s are totally worthless.

My son bought to school the ninja from series 1 minifigures. This kid says he can't play with them unless he brings a ninjago ninja. Stuck up child. My son has ninjago he just did not bring it in to school.

My cousins did that with action figures years back, but the funny thing about that is that some Targets actually have the bottom shelf screwed down. I also read in another thread that some people stash merchandise in the furniture section. I've found some marked down LEGOs and other marked down items in the drawers.

They look the same!

Did you tell him to tell the children his ninja is rare?

If that doesn't work a good punch will help.

Why did you have to mention this? You know I'm gonna have to go through all the furniture at Target now...
Old 01-25-2011, 11:02 PM   #99
Target has built furniture? That's new to me.

FYI a post on Toys n' Bricks says that Lego Stores ship. I will personally call some stores tomorrow to verify this and report back here. Here's to hoping that the guy wasn't joshing.
