I started at 20 points per day, 1 point for every 5 searches.

Then I got downgraded to 16 per day, 1 point for every 5 searches.

Then I got downgraded again to 12 per day, 1 point for every 2 searches.

Seems like each redemption has to be approved by an actual person, I submitted mine on friday night but didnt get the code until this morning, so I dont think they work weekends, they also dont work late at night. Thats weird. Also I dont think they care about IP addresses, if they did then people who get their coworkers using bing bar at work would all get banned.

Depending on the office's network, they may not be sharing the same IP address. While Bing Rewards may not be closing accounts for sharing an IP address right now, they do specifically state that by installing the Bing Toolbar you give them permission to collect your IP. It's more of warning to people than a hard rule about what gets you banned.

They probably collect a lot more information than just IP, like unique computer hardware ID's. Or they may not collect any information besides what you tell them at checkout.

I got demoted to 1 point per 5 searches for a maximum of 12 points daily for a couple of weeks. Got another 400 points within 24 hours of submitting my order.

Not sure if I'll put any effort anymore into getting points since it's feeling more and more like a grind to me.

Yes, they collect lots of information. They're upfront about collecting your IP address, it's not buried in the fine print or something. That's the reason it's suggested you use different IP address if possible. That's all.

Haha but free is free, I've gotten a total of 2000 MSP this way, so I can't complain too much.

Wow, I stopped using this for a month and now I'm downgraded to 1 per 5 searches up to 6(!) per day. And they don't have the other offers, either (the one where you click on a link and you get 3 points)? I only have 60 more points before I can get a $5 Amazon gc but after that, I'm done.

Well I ordered my $10 Amazon card early early Sunday morning and got the email with the code a couple of hours ago. Surprised how fast it was. Now to rebuild towards another.

anyone install the new Bing Bar? is your rewards acct working?

after about $20 in MS pts, i gave up on this b/c the Bing Bar was a resource hog. MS announced a new version of the Bing Bar yesterday, so I figured I'd try again.

I see the Bing Rewards button, but clicking it only takes me to the sign-in page. i sign in and see my current/used rewards points, but i don't see any offers or the daily pts/# of searches offer either.

I still have the old one but was this new Bing Bar a requirement?

Not a requirement as the old one still works. But downloading the Bing Bar will get the new one. Worked for me but it does look a bit cartoony now.

Early on it was just the first sentence but they added the second one a couple of months ago. You can go look at your old emails to check.
