The thing about the Caps right now that I hope remains true is that they're playing really good hockey right now, are getting healthy, and most of their players haven't put in a full season, so they're not over-exerted.

It's like A-Rod. He took a month off at the beginning of the season and had a tremendous post-season 2 years ago while the Yankees won the World Series.

I'm going to be boring and say that there will be no upset in the west. In the east I can see Buffalo and Montreal pulling off an upset. Penguins to me won't falter in the first round.

I think you should remove it all together, being about Boston and all...

And the Caps are winning it with defense, which is something we've never really done the past few years. I saw in the Washington Post this morning that our Goals Allowed stat was .5 goals fewer this season than the past few, and that's HUGE for the playoffs. Hopefully we can keep it up.

And it will go in the OP.

EDIT:
And done. I also decided to make it a Wiki thread just in case I forget to update.

It's too bad the Kings couldn't havebeaten the Ducks in that last game. Even with the injuries, the Kings could beat the Predators. Still, a matchup with the Sharks is better than one with the Canucks.

Last minute predictions:

Capitals over Rangers 4-1
Flyers over Sabres 4-2
Bruins over Canadiens 4-2
Penguins over Lightning 4-3

Canucks over Blackhawks 4-2
Sharks over Kings 4-2
Red Wings over Coyotes 4-2
Ducks over Predators 4-3

And the Playoffs are underway.

The Jets are currently up on the Red Wings, and are on a 5-3 Power Play.

Preds aren't the toughest team in the league. But Rinne is having a crazy good year and he can steal a series from any team in the league.

All of today's games have been decided and updated. At least the Caps-Rangers game didn't go 4 overtimes as is playoff tradition.

Wings came out really flat, then again that's been the case at home too many times this year. Killing off that 5 on 3 in the first and Jimmy making a few real good quality saves to keep it a 1-0 game was the difference.

Wow. Great defensive battle between the Sabres and Flyers. Buffalo took way too many penalties, but pulled out the 1-0 win thanks to some great shot blocking and Ryan Miller's ridiculous goaltending. 33 shots - 33 saves.

Dirty hit by Stoll from behind/to the head on White. I think suspension is warranted there.

So in each of the first two days we've had:

- 1 Overtime game (NYR/WSH) (LA/SJ)
- 2 Shutouts (TB/PIT & CHI/VAN) (MON/BOS & BUF/PHI)

I don't know if I want this trend to continue or not.
