To some people, like me, Finishing the single player campaign is beating the game.

To others, the game is not "beat" until it's 100%

Kemper Jones' 2011 Completed Game List

I've never made a list before, but I figure I'll give it a shot. I went and checked my Achievements/Trophies/Wii Message Board. I've now updated with exact dates.

I personally define a "completion" as playing through the single player campaign. I'm not really an Achievement/Trophy whore. If I do go above and beyond, I'll make a note of it.

GAMES COMPLETED IN 2011

01/15 inFamous - Hero Story
01/22 Disney Epic Mickey
01/30 Bayonetta
01/31 Sly Cooper & the Thievius Racoonus Sly Collection
02/15 Marvel vs. Capcom 3
03/09 Donkey Kong Country Returns
03/12 Red Dead Redemption
04/07 Enslaved: Journey to the West
04/13 WWE All-Stars - Cleared all Path of Champions and Fantasy Warfare matches.
05/01 Sonic the Hedgehog 3 - Completed and collected all Chaos Emeralds in just less than 3 hours.
05/04 Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Co-op with the kids. Mainly with my youngest daughter.
05/10 Mario Party DS - Completed story mode along with my youngest daugher. I played the harder mini-games and defeated all the bosses.
05/13 Mortal Kombat - Story Mode Completed, Completed Arcade Ladder with 28/28 Characters, Challenge Tower Completed 300/300. Didn't spend koins to skip any, Krypt Unlocked 100%.
05/25 Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX - After all these years, still my favorite Zelda game. I've lost count of how many times I've finished it, but each time is worthwhile.
05/30 Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
06/08 Red Steel 2
07/13 Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D - N64, Wind Waker Bonus Disc, Zelda Collection, Virtual Console, and now this. The fifth time I've owned the game, and the first time I've ever finished it. Only took 13 years, but it was one hell of an adventure. Now I know why its viewed as the masterpiece it is.
08/01 Star Fox 64 Virtual Console
08/01 Kirby's Adventure Virtual Console
10/22 Batman: Arkham City
11/14 Super Mario 3D Land
11/26 Kirby's Return to Dream Land
12/09 Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga - Co-op with my youngest daughter.
12/13 The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition
12/18 The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword - Bumped off Batman: Arkham City as my favorite game that I've played through this year. Even more so, it has successfully dethroned Link's Awakening as my favorite Legend of Zelda title.
12/26 Gears of War 2
12/30 Rayman Origins

I was wondering what some of you here think about completion in regards to episodic games. In particular, Blue Toad Murder Files. I just finished Episode 1, and while I got all 7 trophies, the list of trophies combines all 6 episodes/all 37 trophies. My completionist nature tells me not to count it, but then I think of games like the Wallace & Gromit titles that are separate titles with different achievement lists per episode... What do you all think? My ultimate goal this year is to finish 50 games, and I'm not sure it'd feel right to count 6 games from 1 trophy list.

well what I did was count each episode as one game
I might of done the blue toad murder files as one total entry but I just downloaded episode 1
for things like "back to the future" and "sam and max" with separate trophy list per episode I would definitely do it per episode

Yeah, that's what I think I'll be doing. Sucks, 'cause I can't buy the next BTMF episodes until the PSN goes up again...

Got another question for everyone here (this is, what, my third question? You all sick of me yet? XD).

I'm playing an old DOS game, God of Thunder, on an emulator website. It's the full version of the game, not just Part 1 or Part 2 or anything. I'm closing in on the end of the final, and I'm wondering: do I add this to my completed list, even though I don't own it and it's technically emulated? Or do I just ignore it and focus on things that I own the physical/digital copies of?

On that note... anybody have any DOS games they don't want anymore? XD

In my own opinion, I feel if a person legitimately puts the time into playing a game from start to finish, it should count. Whether or not you own it is incidental, after all, I imagine a lot of people here rent games or borrow them from friends. And not including emulated games would be rejecting all games on the Wii's Virtual Console, or the Neo-Geo games on PSN or 360, etc. It's still the same game no matter how it's delivered.
