This search bar is a powerful tool for navigating CAG. You can use it to find the lowest prices on games, trade-in values, search members, forum and blog topics, and much more.

After searching for a game title, click the icon to pop-up a window with pricing information.

After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.

Tips

Looking for a game on a specific platform? Type in the platform name with the title!
Example: guitar hero 360

You don't need to click a pop-up tab to filter results. Just type what you are looking for right into the search bar.
Example: gears of war prices
Example: ninjatown review

CAG CAG is Upgrading to Invision Power Suite

The site is currently using vBulletin community software, which we feel is no longer able to meet the needs of the CAG community. John and I have decided it would be best to change the community software which powers this site.

We will be switching the forums and blogs over to the Invision Power Suite community software soon after the latest version of their forum software goes live. This change will yield many advantages, including many great new features, multiple skin options for CAG users, and improved performance.

I've been testing out the software on the official Invision forums and blogs and am convinced you will love it. Most everything that sucks about vBulletin is fixed in IPB. Feel free to check it out.

FAQ

Q: Will I lose any data I currently have on CAG? Do I have to do anything to prepare for this transition?
A: No. Everything will get transfarred over.

Q: When will this chance occur?
A: Soon after IPB 3.2 is released. I'm guessing late summer.

Q: I looked at the official IPS site and I think it's ugly. Are you sure this is the right move?
A: We can customize the look to make it more CAG-like. We can even have a light and dark option, which has been a long-time requested feature.

Q: Are you going to change the rest of the site too?
A: Yes. Moving to IPS will make it much easier for us to improve the look and functionality of all aspects of the site.

Q: Will you upgrade the servers too?
A: Yes.

Q: I hate change and want to complain. Where can do so?
A: Please click here.

That's sly, throwing in a transfarred and a fake here button! Overall I do relate to one of the questions you posted about how I don't like how that site looks so far, but it could be the colors since the ones they are using just really don't look that good, however like you said if you can make the colors more like the CAG were all used to then it hopefully wont be as bad of a change as it looks and I look forward to seeing some of the new features that could come out of this.

I was going to complain but I can't even do THAT with this god damn vbulletin and it's broke ass links. Time for an upgrade I guess.

Oh and here is a fixed link for all complaints. Glad I could help.

Edit: Pretty cool they've got the "like this" button for posts.

If the search can get fixed to search on 2 and 3 character items, then it's well worth the pain of the change.

Or if the search displays things further back than the last week (and yes, I've messed around with the search fields.. C'mon, I know how to use the search feature..)

Will this make it work better on mobile devices?

And if it fixes the search so that it actually works that'd be great too.

I sure hope so. I find myself accessing CAG a lot more on my iPhone these days, and all of the current iPhone interface options are a real pain in the ass for one reason or another.

Definitely. The search function now makes it incredibly hard to find specific items in the trading section.

Would like a good iPhone Skin. The current one is so terrible.

IPS doesn't have a built in groups function, but there is a 3rd party add-on that looks much better than what currently exists on CAG.

try http://community.invisionpower.com on your mobile device. Is that better? If not, point me to a site you like.

IPS uses Sphinx, which is ideal for large communities like CAG. From what I've read, it should support 2 & 3 word searches. John would know more.

I guess I'm glad that the one private group I'm in that is still relatively active has somewhat switched to an external site already, since I don't feel like downloading an add-on just to get the group to work right on the new CAG.

Oh and btw Cheapy...have you checked your feedback lately cuz you have 3 negs(and a positive) from someone called CheapieIsAFanboy .

The add-on is for the forum software that exists on our servers, not for your computer. That would make no sense at all.

I hope this improves mobile browsing of CAG on my EVO (Though it works rather well, but limited)

I misunderstood. Either way I'm still a fan of stuff not changing at all, but if it helps the site to run better then so be it.

Seriously, just pop over to that site that was linked and play with it...it's really outstanding. I can't wait.

HEY!

I'm skeptically hopeful. Once we get past the initial discomfort of change hopefully the improvements will outweigh the losses. Just keep the background nice and dark and no one gets hurt. Light backgrounds quickly give me headaches.

I believe there'll be the option for both.
