How soon before the Wii is $99?

ya im wondering if i should buy at around this price or wait for around x-mas for about 100 dollar price. I just want a backup system, but i dont want to wait too long and not get one

what do you guys think? Now or will it drop more?

I only wish we knew whether there is a Skyward Sword system bundle coming or not. I guess the $70 Zelda game bundle w/gold remote announcement yesterday makes a system less likely, but there's always a chance. If Xenoblade was coming this fall, I would get a system right now for sure though.

Wii should have been $99 at the start of the year, especially considering NOA's abysmal support for it atp.

Well it really is, factoring in you get Mario Kart and the wheel thrown in with the system for under 130 bones.

I'm also on the fence about picking up a Wii at the $130 price. I had one years ago when they first came out but quickly sold it and I want to play the Zelda, Mario, and other AAA games.

Question is when the Wii drops again in price will it come with anything? I think it will be system only for $99 without any games. So $130 with Mario Kart is just as good of a deal IMO.

I highly doubt there is going to be another non-bundled Wii SKU. Recent Wii sales have been slow so there's a good possibility that these will be on sale during Black Friday. I would wait until then unless you really want to play a Wii game before then. For as much hate as it gets from video game hipsters, the Wii has some really good exclusives.

I'm waiting for Black Friday..I'm betting all CAG that hte Wii will be 99.99 as part of an Amazon lighning deal most likely, but hey that should've been the price of the console when it was released.

Amazon had it at $130 before Target did their price drop. I went ahead and bought one at Target last weekend because I really wanted to play Animal Crossing, and buy up some of the recently price-dropped Nintendo Selects titles (Super Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, etc.). Fry's has a great deal right now on those titles (buy two at $20 each, get $10 back).

That said, it won't surprise me if the bundle's $100 on BF. I just didn't feel like waiting that long. $130 + $60 (bought 4 games at Fry's) for a black Wii, MotionPlus remote, and five AAA games isn't too bad in my book.

i got the black bundle when they were offering it for $150 with $30 credit, essentially paid $120 for it since i just applied the credit to something i was going to purchase anyways.

$130 for a new wii with mario kart is a steal, if you already have mario kart it still trades in for $20+ at gamestop.

Perhaps if you're in the market for a Wii right now, it's a reasonable price for what you get, but if you can afford to wait a few months, a better deal will likely be available around the holidays.

If Wii console sales are really dropping like flies anymore, I can see a $99 price point sometime next year. I'd like to get a black one as a spare, and I can wait until the price is right.
