GameStop Used Playstation 2 systems $29.99 and $39.99

Original model $29.99 http://www.gamestop.com/ps2/consoles...urbished/36743

Slim Model $39.99 http://www.gamestop.com/ps2/consoles...p&cross=909071

Good deals. I was hoping to find one for 50 at Best Buy, but none of the nearby stores have any. And those old models are about as durable as they get.

I have a fatty and a slim jps2 right now. I'm hoping the slims hit $20 at some point just to have a backup us console.

I'm on my way to buy a slim right now.

It's funny how mine broke the same day they go on sale.

If you've never had a ps2 before, this and the buy 2 get 2 on ps2 games could keep you busy for a while.

I cant believe how many PS2 games you can buy for $2.99 or less. You can easily buy a fatty PS2 with 30 games for less than $100. That can make someone with a very low budget extremely happy (those making minimum wage).

They haven't. A few weeks ago the slim was 49.99 and the original 39.99, down from 59.99 and 49.99 respectively. This just happened today cause I went to check on the PS2 prices yesterday and they were 49.99 and 59.99

If you're gonna buy your first one, I'd go with the old model. The slim is nicer aesthetically, but it's near impossible to break those old ones. I bought mines a few months after launch and sold it less than a year ago in perfect working condition. That's about 10 years

the slims with some simple tomfoolery can play imports, while the fats require a swap disk. In case it matters to anyone.

I got a quick question. Are component cables worth it for the PS2? When i had my old one it was on an old tube TV, but now I don't have one in the house, just LCDs or Plasmas. And I heard PS2's can look a bit bad on LCDs. So are component cables worth it?

They do improve the clarity in the picture but also bring out a bunch of jaggies. I would look around online and if they are around $5 then it would be worth it.

I bought my original fat 30001R PS2 back in jan 2002 (Happy 10th Birthday PS2) and I love it and still play it most everyday. I have collected a huge amount of games for it over the years and am currently playing through shadow of the collosus. I can't recommend this system highly enough and tons of great cheap games and this coming from someone with all the new and old consoles the PS2 is still the best system ever known to man or alien.

Funny, funny, funny.

I got a Gamecube early on last gen. My parents wouldn't buy another console and, since last gen came to a close when I was entering high school, I didn't have a job or any way to buy one for myself.

I've thought about buying a cheap used one since they went below 50 bucks but never actually do it because I already have a 90+game backlog.
