^ Makes no sense
Hence the sarcasm and why it was meant as a ludicrous statement. Although, it seems like pretty much anything you do will get you banned from trade-ins at bestbuy.

I can't wait to see all the posts from people who come in with 10 copies of Disney Universe get banned.

Lol. Yeah except they'll change their story from trading in 10 copies to 1 and they'll claim it was their first trade in ever.

Are you insinuating that people who get banned aren't telling the whole truth about their trading? I am shocked. shocked!

So they changed the 3 per title per console? Hopefully not. Also is there such a thing as a system ban or is it just the particular manager being a jerk and banning u from the store? I've done a ridiculous amount of trade ins during the last year but I'm cool with the gaming guy so he doesn't care at all, so I'm hoping its a storewide thing.

Does every Best Buy do trade in? Or only those stores listed? None of the stores by me are listed.

Thanks.

Two things:

1) If you are buying games using a gift card do not use your RZ card;
2) It is easy to keep track of trade-in's now that the rewards zone site lists all games you've trade in under their transactions page.

Why #1? Shouldn't you use RZ to get points on those games?
Old 04-29-2012, 10:03 AM   #2089
You don't get points with purchases made via gift card.

You just answered your question. If none of the stores near you are listed for trade ins, then that means they do not do them

Oh well maybe use it for GCU discounts? Is there any disadvantage when using RV with a GC?

Since my unbanning, I've limited myself to trading only one copy of a specific title regardless of the console to hopefully avoid a second banning. Better safe than sorry, since it seems that they make their own rules up as they go along.

is there a risk of being banned if you trade 2 of the same games using 2 different id's to trade one game in each transaction?

Nah. I'm bluntly honest about my trading habits. Why lie? I admit I've done dupes and largely done dupes. Have I gone over the limit? It's possible I did a couple of times, since as I said I don't keep a spreadsheet of everything I've traded in.

It's been changed for almost a month or so now. Right around the time that they had Dead Island pre-owned for $19.99 for 2-3 days(which is likely the trade that got me banned finally) is when it changed. It's just likely that some employees in some stores haven't been brought up to date with that new info as of yet.

Actually you do at times, but it's usually nowhere near the normal amount you would've received if you paid with cash or a credit card.

That depends. If both trades are linked to one GCU account, then they might put two and two together and figure out you traded in 2 copies of the same game.

Isnt your rz card what tells them if youre an unlocked member?

On another note, I tried to get rid of prototype 2 360 at the same time (I figured id be getting 20ish base because it wasnt showing up in the system). But they said they couldn't take it because it was "too new". I laughed and walked out.
I like that Batman controller and i really need a new 360 controller, buy why the hell did they make it wired? That seems so stupid to me.

Why would you use 2 IDs to trade 2 of the same game in one transaction?

It is and besides that its what you need to get double points on gaming purchases. I wouldnt listen to the advice on not using it

I love that because then you don't have to pay for batteries. Also, Microsoft doesn't allow wireless 3rd party controllers.

So, I know the banning at BB has been increasing, but it can't be just by trading in more than 1 game or trading one in the same day as purchased if your not abusing it. One game per title per year per GCU account seems like this would/could be violated by nearly every non-flipping casual gamer. There are many gamers who pick up a game, get rid of it, and pick it up again at a later date on a good deal.

If they are really as strict as this makes it sound, there won't be anyone left to trade in games after a while.
