Re: the laptops, how are you able to make them relatively useful? I'd think that they'd be too old and/or buggy to be of much use, unless you're just parting them out or something. What's the story there? Oh, and nice nab on the Yankees tickets!

Nines times out of ten the machines are fine. I don't post the free parts we get. I only post the free full working computers. If I did my post would look really crazy.

I clean them out; sometimes reformatting them. Putting either a copy of Windows XP SP 3 dual booted Linux. Most of time I just put Linux on with about 10 to 20 games. If the family I am making it for puts some elbow grease into it, I put about 200 to 9000 games on it. This is for people that are willing to sit in the lab and do the work themselves.

I teach a free intro to Linux class for beginners. I am in no way an expert but I'm getting there.

I have 2 PC LAN labs now from 6 years ago we had 1/2 a room. Each room has 60 full desktops loaded with over 500+ freeware games, freeware office software and freeware video publishing software - all donated. Each room has 10 laptops for when we are full to capacity.

just got an email today from a diablo 3 contest that was on here. supposedly i was the winner out of 1790 entries. so will be receiving a diablo 3 headset,mouse, and mouse pad (made by steelseries) sometime in the next month. will def post some picks when they arrive

I don't really win them. I and my kids get them for free for being a part of reading groups in our community. All members of them do.

I also use www.freecycyle.org and www.craigslist.org - free section of the boroughs I live near.

Today's haul.

11,526 Comics - Magnum Comics, Freecycyle.org and Craigslist. - 1,100 books donated to Non-profits in the South Bronx. The rest are being sorted to give to age appropriate friends and family.

Do you ever receive anything video game related? All I ever see you post is comics, tickets, and laptops. Considering the name of the site and all I was just curious, but cheers to all that other good free stuff.

If you look at my previous post, I have posted a lot of free retail PC games. Every week I get over 900+ PC/Mobile games but those are free for everyone, so I don't think it quite fits the bill for this thread. Check out my list to see what I mean, if you have not already.

I could start posting some of the console things that I win but I've been breaking those in front of disgruntle fanboys for kicks and I was lead to believe those stories may not be suitable for this thread

As of late every free retail PC game that I get/win I have been giving away to CAG and PCG members that have given me games in the past either by my thread or via STEAM/Xfire/Raptr friends. I have no desire to even play retail games anymore even when they are freely given. Probably a phase but most likely not.

I also get a lot of free groceries too but that would be too tedious to post week by week so I post the best of the best of what I got for the week or what not.

Just wanted to share I won a free copy of new Vegas ultimate edition on steam so grateful

Cool free games thread, hadn't seen it. Wasn't knocking you or anything, I just see that majority of stuff in this thread is mainly video game related swag, games, consoles, etc. Anyways I was just curious, carry on good sir.
