In other news I've taken a good break from playing poker and most gambling. I've been on a pretty bad losing streak, and the etiquette from other players just doesn't make me want to go play for a while. Hope all of you casino going CAGs out there are getting more out if it than I am.

I've been knocked out of SnG's and table games by people with hands with 52o, 72o and I rage. But then I remember (almost no players do) the times when I've cracked someone's aces or set with a low pocket pair or suited connectors. Hell, my last local tournament a month ago I pushed in with QAs against 84o. Guess who won? Sure wasn't me.

I hopped on the Roulette table this past weekend for the first time. Minimum bet was $5 so I thought that was a good time to get a feel for it. Every other time it's $10 and I don't feel comfortable with that at all.
I ended up going in with $20 and was just playing the columns and sets. Every once in a while I would bet on 5 different numbers. I ended up hitting twice so I had some luck on my side. I got to play for almost 2 hours with that $20 and left with $60 as well as a little better understanding on how to play. Almost got my hand slapped for trying to take my money before the dealer was done paying out LOL. Also learned not to take my cell phone out while on the table. Don't know if I would make a habit of playing roulette though. It was pretty cool just to sit back with my buddy but Video Poker is where my heart is! |

After I was able to take my chips I told him I wasn't toking him a damn thing and with his customer skills it's no wonder he's at the shittiest casino on West Fremont Street. |

And learning casino rules is somewhat important, like not touching cards at some table games or rules specific to craps or roulette. Its not always the dealer being a jerk of course, they can get in trouble if the pit bosses see them allowing it. Dealers are the face of the casino so they take most of the heat, but the people who are really want to see these "rules" enforced are the bosses. |

I live very close to Harrahs Philadelphia and about an hour away from Atlantic City. I don't usually play games like backjack unless it's for 20 dollars. I'm a poker player though and I mostly play the local $65 daily Harrah's tourney when I have a chance. My biggest win was in December when I outright won a Borgata tournament for $5k. There is nothing more satisfying than having 3 million chips in front of you! By far my biggest win live. I just wish they'd finally regulate online poker so I could grind the $5 - $10 tourneys again.

Feeling pretty jealous today. Was playing a Progressive Bonus Deuces Wild .25 machine ($1.25 max bet) the Royal was at $2,000. I got dealt 4 to the royal and threw out one card. Got a Deuce. The guy sitting right next to me gets dealt all 5 not even 5 seconds later and the SAME suite as mine (Clubs) :( oh well! I'll hit a Royal of my own soon

Bringing this back to life! GO!
I've come a long way since last posting in here. I've gone from being strictly all about Video Poker to playing Blackjack more often now. I still like to play Video Poker but I much rather get on the table now. What suckers me in is the 3 card poker side bet. Man that thing can get pretty intense even though it's meant for suckers. 2 of the casinos here still have the 9 to 1 payout on any of the side hit but the other has an updated version that is 5 to 1 on Flush, 10 to 1 on Straight, 20 to 1 on Trips and 30 to 1 on Straight Flush. I enjoy the latter, even though Flush is the most common side bet I hit. The possibility of getting paid more on the Straight Flush/Trips is very nice though. I also play Roulette some times and it can be pretty awesome playing on the inside. I usually play $10 a spin and just put $2 on 5 different numbers. It can add up pretty quick if you're getting lucky and hitting them. Haven't hit a Royal Flush on Video Poker in so long and that's what led me to start venturing off into the tables. It's a lot more entertaining for me since you talk to quite a couple of people in Blackjack and work as a team usually. Last edited by bigpimpin24; 01-26-2013 at 02:21 AM.. |

I like playing Roulette only with a table fill with bunch of my friends. It's lot more fun that way.
Craps is my game. Make big $$$ but could lose big too. Poker is ok... it was best when ESPN didn't hype it up. Now a days; just bunch of wanna be. BlackJack is sucks unless you can count cards. If you have that much luck... you should head to VEGAS. |

The closest casino to me would probably be Harrah's in New Orleans. I went to NO twice and then Vegas once last year. I'd say the most I've gone home with in a single trip so far has been a little over a $1000. All my luck has without a doubt been at table games. Mostly Blackjack and 3-Card Poker.
My aunt on the other hand is a ing legit casino veteran. She usually hits up a casino somewhere in the country at least once a month. She doesn't go for broke, but working for a oil company and not having a spouse or children, she's pretty much entitled to do whatever she wants.

I play Black Jack and Poker, mainly. I'm godlike at Black Jack (made hundreds back each time I've played) and so-so at Poker. I think I may just need to learn more about Poker though. I have a good Poker face, just don't know too much about how the game works.

I'm gearing up for my annual AC trip in March with all of my friends. I can't wait. I'm probably going to stick to Craps since I did pretty good last year but I may try some Roulette even though I almost always lose. Whenever I play I usually play thirds where I bet on 2 to hit 1 which wins about 64% of the time (of course the other 36% you lose double).

I use to be pretty hardcore into blackjack, but it came to the point where it wasn't fun. I got into during the end of high school (way before the Bringing Down the House Movie came out) and practiced and practiced. Counting down decks, estimate how many decks left in the shoe, and all the other indices (how basic strategy changes depending on the count).
All that to just put the game in your favor very very slightly. What most people could could make (long term) playing 8 hrs a day is less than my job pays me. Depending on variance and how the game is still only slightly in your favor you would need a huge bankroll to really survive long term with the huge swings. If you play with $25s and above they will immediately boot you if they see you using "advanced tactics" or worse yet, tell you have to flat bet (can't change your bet) or just tell you that you are too skilled for their game and to please try one of their other excellent tables games (meaning you can't play BJ there anymore). Wonging (standing behind a table and counting the count is strongly in your favor) also gets you bounced after a few attempts. Pit Bosses and dealers all know how to count and tell if someone up to something, and the only way to avoid any heat would be to play nearly as bad as a normal person. Oh yeah, now with automatic shuffling machines at certain places there is no point. For anyone interested in learning though, there are a few forums that specialize in it and many different programs to help teach people practice and to run simulations with expected variance, etc. |

Anyone here into Video Keno? I was playing a bit today and was enjoying it. The jackpots on those machines are huge even thought the probability is low but just the fact it's there is still exciting.

Haven't tried Vegas but have been to AC.
It was an interesting experience, had decent luck with Blackjack/Roulette, not so much with the slots but that was to be expected from what I had heard. I was amazed at the variety of slot machines though, I mean essentially they're all similar in principle but their themes are different. |
