In the same boat here. IIRC, I have five Social Links maxed out now, but doing all of them would take way too much time.

Don't know how many Personas I have registered now, though I'm fairly sure I'm past 60%.

Considering that you get another s.link in January for Aigis , it does seem that you have to play everything just about perfect to get them all.

Course, one issue I had was that I didn't know that you could develop s.links with your teammates until late in the game.

Yeah, it's not that maxing the s. links takes too much time, it's that you have to be glued to a guide/faq and play perfectly to do it, which would make the game totally unfun (IMO).

I actually use s link guide just so I can see how every s link developed, which I think is more fun

To each his own. Since the game is half dating sim (or whatever you want to call it), I found it fun to try to understand each character's personality and try to guess which response they would respond best to. As the s link got higher, I was mostly able to get the correct answer more of the time.

Haven't been using a guide for the S.Links. I've found that the more sympathetic dialogue choices tend to get me good results (usually). It's just like real life, and I'd like to think my protagonist is a nice guy

Also, miscounted how many I have maxed now; it was actually six, and I finished two more yesterday. Very close to maxing out Tower as well. And now my registered Persona rate is 69-70%.

Been playing it a lot lately, though, so I'm playing something else for right now: Chantelise. God damn is it hard.

I counted up mine. I have 9 currently and probably will get at least 3 more before the end of January.

I've heard the controls aren't the greatest. It is in my backlog, but I need to finish Recettear first.

I swear for the past 3+ hours that I've played Tales of the Abyss there have been hardly any dungeons and the game mostly consists of: Go to Baticul and watch a cutscene, go to Grand Chokmah and watch a cutscene, go to Yulia City and watch a cutscene, go to Daath and watch a cutscene, all one after another, then occasionally go to one of the other non-major cities and watch a cutscene, and in the very rare case where you aren't going to a location to watch a cutscene there might be a dungeon to do, haha. At least fast travel is unlocked, so you just jump all over the world run into the city you've been told to go to watch a scene get told to go to another city run out hop in your aircraft and fast travel to the next location and repeat.

At this point it's refreshing when the game just automatically warps me to where the scene is inside the city that I need to watch so I don't have to run to someplace I've been running around in repeatedly just to trigger another story scene, in reality the game could just be a graphic novel for this part of the game with it just dumping me in whatever dungeon I need to go to when I actually need to play. I mean there isn't even stuff for me to buy anymore I think the stores have the final equipment that they're going to offer, the only reason I go into cities is to watch cutscenes.

It isn't just you, it's one of my big complaints about the game. How it gets as much praise as it does, I'll never know.

The controls are okay, at least with a controller, though the lock-on command is a little iffy and the jumping isn't the best (I haven't seen any mandatory platforming bits so far, but you do have to do some to get certain treasures).

Controls notwithstanding, it has a steep difficulty curve. There are barely any options for healing, the shop system is built to encourage lots of grinding for cash, and certain enemies are rather tricky.

However, I just got through the fourth dungeon (third if you don't count the tutorial one) and that one wasn't as bad as the previous two difficulty-wise, so who knows how the rest of it'll be.

the last boss of Xenoblade. Wanted to beat it tonight but it was too difficult for me. Now it's 4 AM. Yeah, it's level grind time.

Hahaha, yeah, that guy. Still think he was easier than the bird bitch. At least I could use characters I was comfortable with (though yeah, I too was underleveled and had to grind to beat him).

Yet another RPG going "WTF is going on" in the last few minutes of the game...

Yeah I'm on like the last 3rd of the game and my characters are all at 70, but after hearing so much about the last boss I wanna make sure they are at least 90 before I take him on.

finally beat DDS1 which means I get to open DDS2, I haven't opened a PS2 game since FF12 came out. I'm really enjoying this series, I think it's the characters with good voice acting or that its a JRPG without the J pop or cutesie stuff.

Before I begin DDS2: can anyone tell me if i should start on the Hard mode or is that for a second playthough of DDS2? If I keep my skills I think I could handle Hard mode the first time through.

I'm on cloud 9. Just beat Xenoblade..... 130 hours
Old 06-28-2012, 02:17 AM   #156
My buddy started Xeno and says it's good like how FF12 is good which has me very excited =]. Hope The Last Story gets a real release date soon, we agreed on swapping games when we finish.
Old 06-28-2012, 02:58 AM   #157
Your buddy is on the correct path... you are not.

Edit - Sorry, that was a dick comment.
Old 06-28-2012, 03:24 AM   #158
Stop it.

It took some hard convincing (not really) to get Panzer to want to pick up Last Story. Don't be derailing him now.

Nice, congrats! Now go wrap up all the side quests you don't have complete... hehehe

On an RPG "related" note, anyone blay Dissidia 012 Duodecim Final Fantasy or whatever the that stupid name is? I downloaded it for my new PSPGo and I'm really enjoying it. Took a hella long time to get used to the gameplay, but I love all the FF fan service going on in it.

012 was really good I thought but I still need to get the new characters that were added up to level 100 before they announce a new one. At least all the characters were 100 from my save for the 1st game.
