Anyone get LEGO Batman 2?

I'm going to pick this up for my son but we can't play it until his birthday in 2 weeks. I can't wait to play this - the first game is probably the Lego game we've played the most together.

Anyone else buy it? Is it good?

I have not picked it up yet. It looks fun though. As someone who owns all the Lego game (Except Pirates and HP) I will definitely pick it up eventually.

Also, it currently has an 80 on MetaCritic.

I bought it. 1/2 to play with my kids (4 and 6.5) and 1/2 for me because this summer is so sparse for new releases. It's good. I'm not a huge fan of the lego games and tired of them after Lego Indy. This one is great because of the voice acting. But, it's pretty standard lego game fare as far as gameplay goes. That is a great thing or a 'ugh, again' thing, depending on your take on the lego games. I'm on level 3 and it's fun. The open world gameplay will be fun once it opens up.

It looks cool, and finally has a few new additions mentioned by chubby above (open world and voice acting). Considering my son hasn't beaten the first one yet (despite beating all the Star Wars one numerous times), I will probably wait until his birthday in November to get this one. Hopefully it will be $20-$30 by then.

game is amazing more adult feel and open world rules. i almost 1000 this and will be playing it after 1000. This game feels so fresh and going back to the old legos after this makes them meh...

^Yeah, I've had Lego Star Wars complete saga since buying my XBox 5 years ago and never played through it, so even though I picked up Lego Batman 2, I've waited until I played through Star Wars to play it.

Started last Sunday and I'm gonna beat Jedi tonight though so I should get into Batman tomorrow night, looking forward to it.

We got it both for my husband and I and for our kids (3, 5, 6). All of us are really enjoying it. We bought it for PS3 and I got the vita version, for lack of anything else for me to play right now on vita, through gamefly. I love the PS3 version, the vita version's cutscenes were AWFUL in quality.

Got it from GameFly. I was huge fan of the LEGO games for awhile, but they really started to wear thin on me. The 1st HP game really bored me to tears, and I think I returned it before I even beat the 1st level. Haven't played any of them since. This is a ton of fun, though. I am huge DC geek, so that might be helping me to get more enjoyment out of it. One thing this game has done, though, is really make me wish someone would do a proper Justice League game, maybe in the vein of Ultimate Alliance (Justice League Heroes blew...)

EDIT: I realize they like to do different things for the portable versions of the game, but it annoys me a little that they get some pretty cool exclusive characters.

For those of you who got sick of the repetition in the Lego series, Clone Wars breaks the mold a bit by including an RTS-light element that is fairly enjoyable. Some of the RTS missions are timed which provide a moderate amount of challenge if you play them without cheats.

The open world part sucks. It saves for 5-10 seconds a gold brick, and there's 200ish.

Story mode is the shortest of all Lego games I can remember.

Flying and driving are on-rails.

Not really an issue, but every person you rescue looks the same.

The voices are nice though.

You unlock only 5 heros by the end of story mode. The rest are purchased in open world.

You can get the last hero only after you get all 250 gold bricks. By then, what can you even do still?

My son (4) loves the open world he loves being able to do his own thing exploring jumping from vehicle to vehicle. The missions are a lot longer than previous LEGO games Ive played but some do have the option to save mid level which is nice. We just got to mission 5 with Superman this past weekend and of course my son was hogging him...lol. Game is a blast!

Come on LEGO Avengers!

Same here. My son (4 but 5 on Tuesday) could play around in the Batcave from the first game for hours. He is going to flip out when we play Lego Batman 2 on his birthday. It should finally arrive from Amazon tomorrow.

I don't know. Maybe I'm a little kid, but I really liked the open world in this game, especially after I opened up more and more of the fliers (there are a bunch of them). I guess I'm easily amused.

I surprised my 7 yr old son with this game on Sat. He was absolutely floored. We played quite a bit over the weekend. It's a great game. Felt like they added more puzzles, and more things to break. We love the suits for Batman and Robin. We just got Superman, so my son is flying around all over with him.

The only thing I don't like is that if you quit in the middle of a mission, you can't just load it back in. You have to go into Gotham City, and then drive/run to the stage to restart it. Seems a bit cumbersome to me.

Tomorrow is the day! I am actually pretty excited myself. I'm taking off in the afternoon from work and I hope we can play for a few hours before he has to go to bed.

I only saved and continued once or twice, but I do believe you can use the Bat-computer, select the level, and it loads back up to where you saved.

I tried that but for whatever reason, it only let me replay the first part of Mission 3 (Arkham) and then it drops me back in the Batcave after the first part. I had to manually go to Arkham for it to trigger the 2nd part of Mission 3 to continue the story. Not sure why I had to do that.

My son was so excited this morning when he opened up his birthday presents. He has been playing Lego Batman2 all morning I think. I can't wait to get out of here to go play with him!
