Bah of course I got Tangled cancelled. Had it for $10.75

I should maybe get in touch with my CC company since I placed 5 orders. Hoping they don't freeze my card.

Alright I got back from work at 3AM earlier today and found out about this promotion. I immediately checked if 3D blu ray movies were part of the deal. To my surprise, YES!
I ordered:
Lion King 3D
Tangled 3D
Beauty and the Beast 3D
Dante's Inferno

All for $50 including shipping. The normal price for 3D is typically 30+ for Disney movies. It now shows OUTOFSTOCK, but I ordered when it was INSTOCK. I hope to receive the items!

This is a good deal, I just wish the shipping was cheaper.

Also regarding price drops for OOS items, I think that if the item is OOS then the price means zilch. A 'real' price doesn't seem to be assigned until the item is actually in stock. The oos prices just seem to me to be some sort of odd placeholder price that means absolutely nothing.
I think the site is just slow to update, but of course neither of us can prove any of this. I've had items that were both OOS in the past when you click on them, but both showed in stock on the search page. The next day, they both change to OOS on the search page. It's kind of hard to predict how Hasting's site works since it's constantly cluttered with errors, but that's probably half the fun. But most of us are used to it, so no biggie.

They've come a long way since a couple years ago when I started shopping with them, and they've digressed and progressed in that time, but there really is no answer to how Hasting codes their stuff.

Personally I think the site is just slow to update things that are OOS on the search page, hence it staying there on the search as in stock when you search it, but OOS on the product page. Now when things go OOS after people order it, that's a whole other issue concerning store stock and online stock not meshing, which is what they are actively trying to figure out.

As for the placeholder price issue, you can't always tell if it's a placeholder price or not. Sometimes it's obvious, and sometimes it isn't. For example I wanted Fruits Basket awhile back and it was $22.xx, and then it dropped to $19.99, and when I clicked on it, it was actually $19.99, so wasn't a placeholder price. You can't predict prices with Hastings, so you never know. Sometimes they are price errors too as I've taken advantage on some of those as well because I thought it couldn't be that price, but when I click on it, it is, and I buy them. ^___^

Nobody here (or at least on this page) is complaining about not getting a low price. Just commenting on how it shows in stock and a lower price for some items on the search page, but when you click it, it's OOS, which makes for sad face for all.

Roll your eyes, it's time for another LEGO Batman 2 post

They fixed the price between last night and today, but of course it was OOS.

While looking for other crap, one copy came back in stock.

Picked up for $48 shipped:
Rage ($7)
Blacksite: Area 51 ($5)
The Batman Season 2 ($4) UPDATE: Canceled (rebought new at BestBuy.com for $5)
LEGO Batman 2 ($29)

I'm just hoping they cancel or ship LEGOB2 rather quickly so I'm not wondering all weekend.

On a completely unrelated note: I rented Chuck Season 5 (Final season), felt really confused during the 1st episode, and realized I had never seen season 4!

I think that sums it up nicely. Sorry if I overstepped there, I was trying to be helpful, but realize that the more we think we know about how GH works, we're probably all wrong!

A friend is browsing GH today (her first time) for graphic novels and I tried to explain to her how searching requires some extra effort. My example to her was that I am trying to finish up my Fables, Preacher and Sandman TPB collections and over half of those in my Wishlist don't even have Fables, Preacher or Sandman in the title, but are listed under the title of the specific volume and you need to find that by looking it up on Amazon. Not only that, but two or three Fables have the author listed as Mark Buckingham (the artist) instead of Bill Willingham. It can definitely be tricky navigating the site and I still have a lot to learn. (So if there's an easier way to find TPB's without using Amazon feel free to fill me in).

I wasn't even going to try to get in on this 7/4 promo after ordering a bunch of games with the previous codes, but lo and behold, I found 3 used blurays I wanted for a decent price and Max Payne 3 still in stock. $38 shipped for MP3, MJ's This Is It, V for Vendetta and La Femme Nikita.

This is pretty much true 99% of the time. SOMETIMES you can catch the system before it updates in the middle of the night at like 3 AM. The item will come back into stock with say, a $3.99 place holder price. You'd have to snag it right then because within minutes (to a couple of hours) the system will correct it to the 'market' price of $8.99 (just an example) after it sees what people are selling it for on Amazon Marketplace and eBay. But this is a hard feat to pull off. So for all intents and purposes, the OOS price should just be considered a placeholder and not the actual in-stock price.

Not at all. It's always fun to have these discussions though because it is unpredictable. ^__^

That was true in the past where they would show each title just ones (so the PS3 and 360 versions, plus new/used/pre-owned would all be shown as one result).

Now they list each item and version separately (ie, there's a separate result for Max Payne 3 new, Max Payne 3 new, Max Payne 3 used, and so on). I thought they did this to help which what's actually in stock but it doesn't appear to be working...

It's an okay deal, not the best. $6.25 per game. Condemned is great and I personally enjoyed the Last Remnant. DMC4 isn't bad, but Blue Dragon I couldn't get into (in part because one of the actors from Digimon voices the main character in this game).

STILL getting the system error whenever I try to check out. In the midst of all that, 3 items went out of stock. Ugh, so frustrating. It's been two weeks with this error now.

AND another thing goes out of stock. So, that's 10 minutes of me trying to get my order to go through, with 4 movies going out of stock whilst doing so. =/

Man, this shipping is a killer if you are trying to buy old games. The 4 games I want comes out to 13 bucks, which is fantastic, but the shipping is 9 dollars which brings it up to 22. The shipping cost pretty much negates the 40% off deal.

Is it just me or did shipping go up since yesterday? 9 bucks on 4 items seems higher than it was showing with the last coupon.

I don't even pay attention to this thread and I can tell you that shipping is generally $2.28 ($2.28 x 4 = $9.12). It had been $0.96 for a short period of time so that's why you probably think it went up.
