I decided to pick it up, having spent hours on the original back around when it came out. I'm not regretting the purchase at all. It improves on the 1st game in every area. The touch controls are spot on, the art style is fantastic, there's a lot of new environments/enemy types/towers/power-ups etc and the individual soldiers have rag doll like physics when they fall off a motorcycle, sidecar etc. So yea I'm really liking it.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a good drawing/doodle app? I'll pay for one rather than have annoying ads if I need too. Looking for a native iPad app, and Doodle Buddy is not great.

Agreed, I'm enjoying it a lot. Nice break from Kingdom Rush (even though I think that's still the best TD game on iOS).

Draw something. Basically pictionary with friends. There are both free and paid versions.

Does anyone know what "painting" app it is that they're advertising in the new ipad commercial? In the commercial there's a brief clip of a person making their own watercolor-esque painting and it's piqued my curiosity

I have that, I'm looking for something to just draw or let my daughter draw. Not a game but an app.

That is my next purchase after I finish my current project in the next week. From what I have read, AVID wins over iMovie. Supposedly, AVID supports files from an SD Card and multiple Audio Tracks. I have some wicked plans for it along with VJay and Action Movie FX.

There is one point of concern though as AVID has sold their consumer product line including AVID for iPad to Corel, which should take effect within the month (although who knows how long before they update the app to acknowledge this). This is part of why I'm holding off on it until I know I will have time to work with it. By that time perhaps Corel will have some sale to promote the change . Of course, it may be good to go ahead and get the file for it before the change over just in case it goes downhill with Corel.

EA Games has another $0.99 sale including Mass Effect (not into it), and most of the others. Looks like they gave up on the $1.99 select titles sales that has been going on for a year.

Sketchbook Pro. It's currently 1.99 (it bounces between that and 4.99, though it was .99 once), but it's as powerful as you want it to be. You can use levels, opacity, brushes, tools, or you can just draw. The interface is good for making it easy to use it either simply or complex. Best drawing app I've used by far.

Draw Something was great a few months ago, but I've noticed a huge dropoff in people playing -- most of my opponents have moved on. I think their decision to monetize wordsets is wrong-headed -- you either use the boring words they never seem to update, or you pay for the good ones. Given the in-game economy, you have to pay real-world money for the good words (The best 'deal' is equivalent to 32 coins for one bomb. The most you can earn for a match is less than 10 coins. Worse than Vegas.). This sucks.

I vastly prefer Charadium II. You can play it like Draw Something or you can play it live, which is where I think the action is. It keeps you on your toes and doesn't get dull and the wordlist is huge.

Both apps have their share of idiots. The ones in Draw Something tend to annoy me more because you spend time creating a good drawing and they're all "duh...derp". Because Charadium is faster paced, the bozos matter less.

I noticed that Batman Arkham City Lockdown is on sale for .99 again.

Now my phone says I don't have enough space to download with 2.2 gb free. Does anyone know the full size of the game when installed?

I've noticed that you sometimes need almost double the space to download something, I have no idea why. It's really a pain with apps that are over 1 gig... I've actually been a lot pickier about games because of how much space they take.
