This search bar is a powerful tool for navigating CAG. You can use it to find the lowest prices on games, trade-in values, search members, forum and blog topics, and much more.
After searching for a game title, click the
icon to pop-up a window with pricing information.
After typing in what you are looking for, you can filter your results by clicking on one of the tabs that pops up from the top of the search bar.
Looking for a game on a specific platform? Type in the platform name with the title!
Example: guitar hero 360
You don't need to click a pop-up tab to filter results. Just type what you are looking for right into the search bar.
Example: gears of war prices
Example: ninjatown review

Yeah I saw that it's a five day grace period which will be good enough for anyone getting the game from Amazon (that has Prime shipping at least) so I should be all set.

Reminder that BWE #3 starts tomorrow! I just updated the client for the first time in like 2 weeks, and it downloaded ~40,000 new files.
Please note that the Gem store will be working and you will be charged for Gem purchases!

Just pre-ordered for the beta weekend.
Psyched to try this game out. For those who have played in previous betas, which classes are you liking most? Usually I go with the mage type, so elementalist here. But the necromancer and mesmer classes look interesting too. |

I personally thought the engineer was stupid and ruined the game's feel before playing it. Now I think its one of the best classes though it does take a little more work than the others to play it correctly/effectively. I'll probably be making an engineer as my main character once the game goes live. The warrior is ok though a little boring. Greatsword/longbow absolutely destroys PvE. Ranger is like a warrior except more interesting to play as (moves have more effects and movement options, have a pet that you don't have to babysit). This weekend I want to play my thief some more I had fun the short while I tried him. I suspect this will be tied for engineer as my favorite. Guardian does not interest me at all. The entire feel of the class is not for me. |

there are a few things like more character slots and larger storage pools for your Bank and your character. I am not quite sure if storage for your character would ever grow beyond, in game, the 4 slots, but you can get up to 7. Bank you can almost double in size. i think storage will be the first purchase.... I really hated juggling in the first one. |

Been playing more of the beta. So far played only thief and engineer at length. Currently trying mesmer and am loving it more than the other two. Specifically, mesmer with two-hand sword (I know, a little ridiculous). I just don't like how the skills are setup for thief and engineer, especially the skills that involve manual aiming with the mouse. To me, the controls of the game feel a little clunky. I had to bind the skill also to the numpad, however it still feels a little clunky, especially the skills on the right side of the skillbar (6-0). Maybe I just need more time to get used to keyboard layout. But I don't quite remember controls being this troublesome for me in Guild Wars 1. Though it's been a while since I played that series.

If you don't game at least occasionally the controls will feel a bit awkward at first - even movement will - but once you get used to it (accurately) spamming attacks like a maniac isn't that difficult.

That's the thing, I've played Guild Wars 1 at length for hours back in the day. Movement is fine, but the fact that the heal skill and class skils are 6-0 keys is a little weird. It's a bit of a stretch to hit those keys. I remember back in GW1 my important skils (i.e. heal, elite, etc.) would be one of the first skills on the slot so that they were easy to get to. Now, with movement being especially useful, trying to maneuver and hit those 6-0 keys doesn't feel optimized.

Yeah I think you just need to get used to it. I moused to a lot of skills most of the time in the beta but I have a feeling I'll need to speed things up a bit and hit the number keys in the full game. I doubt I could get away with slowly mousing to targets and skills at higher levels.

So what do you guys think about a CAG guild?
I play with a group of 5 friends usually and we have our own little mini-guild for just us, but with the ability to join multiple guilds and pick the one you represent, a CAG guild might be nice for people in a similar situation to pool their resources into a large guild instead of a little one. When Guild Wars launched I started a CAG Guild but most people stopped playing after a month or two leaving the "online" list almost completely empty. The active members ended up joining other Guilds pretty quickly meaning all the resources put into it went to waste (sigils weren't cheap back then!). People will be reluctant to contribute their influence to something if it ends up going to waste. Theres also the issue of only having a few people actively posting in this thread, CAG's PC community is laughable to begin with and fewer still seem to be interested in Guild Wars. So, again, what do you guys think? |

In my honest opinion, CAG is way too casual and you'd end up with a lot of droolers in the ranks. I'd never use this site as a recruitment tool, but that's because we're elitists and PKs. From the shit you talk, it sounds like you're of the same mentality (or at least talk the talk) so I'd stick to recruiting ingame.
Honestly, I think the game will be a waste anyway because it sounds like a lot of the same ideas that have been tried in the past, but ended up just being another loot grind with PvP tacked on. If you want real meaning in an MMO again, these developers need to give players control back again. No more carebear guards in towns, no more safe zones, no more battlezones, etc. To grow a real community, you need to make alliances and have real risk in the game. The closest risk I've heard of in this game is building up a keep for influence points or some nonsense and having a rival guild come and destroy it. Doubtful it's anything like what you lost if that happened in a game like Shadowbane, though. Losing a keep in that game usually brought down the entire guild and THAT'S a game worth playing. |

Its true of me in many games, but Guild Wars is my carebear game. A CAG guild would be more to have people to explore/do missions with. People showing each other how to get to hard to reach spots, help with skill challenges etc.
This could all be accomplished via friend list but a guild chat channel would make it easier to organize multiple people. PvP could happen on an extremely casual basis if something foolproof comes along (such as flareway) but I don't have high hopes. I'm personally not very interested in organized PvP in general anyway. I think the biggest opposition to the guild right now is not having enough members to make it worth it. |
