Yeah they probably have preset emails to cancel orders, and sending out the "not enough availability" is faster and more efficient than making up a new one to send out.

The end result is the same. Move on, it's clear they know it was an error and weren't going to honor it. Everyone pretty much knew that, but there was no risk in trying. It was a free spin on a slot machine, you obviously arnt going to win, but you'll spin it anyway.

I recommend waiting until they get it back in stock, then contact customer service to ask why your order was canceled due to 'lack of availibility'

I read a similar thing happened when they had Iron Man 2 for preorder for $15, they canceled orders due to 'lack of availibility' and raised the price to $25. It was later clarified as a pricing error, but some who contacted customer service got a $10 credit to buy it at the originally advertised price.

While I doubt Walmart will honor the original price, they might still acknowledge their mistake.

This is what I'm talking about here. Like I said earlier, I didn't place an order on this thing. I didn't bother because I knew they would pull something like this. Either way, I don't have a horse in this race, so I don't get why some of the members here are rising up to defend poor little Walmart when all I said was they were kind of in the wrong here. They messed up, and it wasn't a little mistake either. Their mistake was up for hours and hours and now their brilliant solution is to say there's an availability issue? That is pretty dishonest. If they would at the very least just admit they were wrong, I'd be alright with it. But what do you know.. Walmart being Walmart again.

Got my cancellation email and it did not reference low stock, it addressed the pricing error directly.

Mine is still processing, but I would imagine it will be cancelled soon. It's probably better that way since I really didn't want to pay $18 for it. I'll just grab it when it hits $10 as usual. I still have copies of the first 4 games and I am busy NOT playing them.

Edit: got my cancellation and like the guy above they actually did say that it was because of a misprice. I don't blame them.

Cancelled. Told them I'd go to the BBB and FTC, as well as start a blog about it. Let's see if they come through, for their own good anyways.

Think I called it. They sent their preset cancel emails to everyone, but then followed up with an email about how it was a price error.

Walmarts system is pretty top notch, so I'm not surprised with how quickly this happened. Good PR work to follow the cancel email up with a "our bad" email.

Too bad Best Buy doesn't have price errors lol
