Bought "Gone Away" by the Offspring last night. Mastered it tonight. Great song. Fun to play.
"Nightmare" is, well, a nightmare. It's going to take me a looooong time to master that. Sick solos... |

Well, Amazon increased Rocksmith to $45.27 since Gamestop raised to price back to $60. So Toys R Us is the only place that has it for $40
And Hello Music finally has a link for that ESP guitar. It's a st-203fr strat guitar for $249 http://www.hellomusic.com/ec/DealMain.aspx?did=15561 They also have the Fender g-dec3 THIRTY amp for $125. http://www.hellomusic.com/ec/DealMain.aspx?did=15572 Remember to use coupon code "hm20new" or "first20" to save 20 bucks. One of those should still work

Bass version of the ESP guitar, also $249. Personally I don't like the distressed/roadworn look at all; if I wanted a chipped and beat up body I'd wait until I dropped one of mine lol Would've liked that G-Dec 3 30w but missing out is what happens when you're at work |

This next deal kinda started to blowup at a bunch of places even though it hit backorder status early on:
Fender 30" barstool for $14.99 (normally in the 60-80 price range). Can be had from any of the GC stores (gc, mf, m123, wwbw) so choose the one with the most favorable shipping/tax scenario Wwbw: http://www.wwbw.com/Fender-30--Barst...bw?esid=450703 Pretty good deal for a cool little piece. If they ship, you'll get an early Christmas gift
The other cases got jacked back up |

Incredible deal on those bar stools. I rolled the dice and ordered two. I'll be absolutely floored if they ship.
Also, does anybody have any opinions on guitar wall hangers? I know Amazon has the String Swing ones for $8.30 each, and then they get more expensive from there. In anticipation of my daughter learning to walk, I'm thinking about hanging my collection (3 electrics, 3 acoustics, and a bass). But at $8 a pop, that's pretty pricey. I saw these (http://www.amazon.com/Guitar-Hanger-...ref=pd_cp_MI_1), which surprisingly, have pretty solid reviews (and a lot of them). The shipping cost sucks, but you can get them on eBay for around the same price with free shipping...and in lots...which is appealing since I'm looking at hanging several guitars. Obviously, this is an area where you don't want to go too cheap though. But this also seems like something you could easily overspend on out of paranoia and fear. I just want something that is functional, won't damage the finish, and will last. The fact that people use them for Guitar Hero controllers is amusing...but I wouldn't be dicking around with drywall anchors and would be screwing them into studs anyway. Has anybody tried them? |

Ok, I am seriously looking at getting rocksmith for the bass DLC. I just bought a bass a while ago and have been finding it hard to focus and practice. I keep thinking this may be just the thing to get me back into the groove. I have zero experience and was just using Tabs to play songs and that gets kinda boring looking at text files.
I keep seeing really poor reviews though and am worried. I have a fender 50's reproduction p-bass |

Only concern I see with the one you linked is that the hanger portion is too flat. I'd be worried about the guitar sliding off, unless you do some DIY mods. The string swings are angled upward
Best thing RS does is get the guitar, and very soon bass |

I know this is a deals thread and not really a talk about the game thread but.
I read the reviews saying that the lag can be really bad when using HDMI and that is what I have setup and not able to change it. They also said the learning curve is really poor and that you can't just pick your own settings and have to just let the game choose for you. There was a lot of other stuff, I realize this thread will be a bit biased towards the game however. I was looking for something to help me learn from scratch so I am not an elitist and also not looking for a guitar hero game(I actually hated those games). Is this a game that can be bought used(no online codes)? |

You can buy it used. Just make sure you get a copy that includes the RealTone cable, otherwise you can't play.
As for the HDMI lag thing, it's hit or miss depending on how your TV/receiver/whatever else you use for sound processes the audio signals. I don't have any audio lag issues on a Sony KDL-v4100 (I think that's the model line...) using HDMI, though I recently picked up some sweet speakers that I have yet to configure with the game. |

Ordered 2 bar stools though they aren't expected to ship until Nov 2nd. Here is hoping that the order doesn't get canceled
. I also want to buy Rocksmith but I don't want to fork over 40 dollars + tax, I'm hoping it goes down to at least 35 or if any CAG is selling a used copy with the cable.

I have like 300+ hours in on Rocksmith. It's a hell of an investment, if you really want to learn guitar...

I might have missed it, but with the bass DLC, is it just 4-string? Reason being, I have a Washburn 5-string and would love to practice with all five. I'm willing to bet that it's just 4-string, though...

You can use a 5-string bass, but the game will only register 4 strings. |

It's amazing that this tread is still going strong. It is a great game I am a bit disappointed that there isn't going to be a song pack on disk this year. Haven't been playing as much since work doesn't leave me much fun time. Really suprising how you can get right back into where you left off. Even without playing much for months I can beat my old high scores easily.
Reading this thread has sure given me the itch to get a new guitar and now a bass. The Christmas sales on insturments are going to be fun this year. |
