Nope. I'd count on it being at least a couple weeks after release though, to give everyone time to get the game and also to get the roster update (assuming there is one).

I'll also be on vacation the week following release, so don't count on it starting before I'm back.

that works for me considering i wont be back until september 22nd but i will have the game the day its comes out thats for sure. but theres a chance i might not even deploy now so i guess it might not matter to me when we start either way

I don't see any reason we shouldn' start as soon as the preseason in real life is complete. That should give us a week 1 roster update and I think we should be good to go with that. First NFL game is Sept. 5, one week and one day after release. I say we aim for Monday September 3. Unless there are extenuating circumstances and a large sect of the members don't have the game by then.

I won't be back in town until the 5th or 6th. I hate to claim executive privilege, but I think that's extenuating enough.

Ultimately it'll be up to yourself, uber and siradam...but I'm sure either of them would handle league business admirably in your absence as they've done before. You could always play your game on the 5th or 6th, upon your return.

No doubt they're more than capable, but the plan all along has been to wait about two weeks (which is what we've done in the past based on when the roster comes out) before we start. That's part of the reason I scheduled the vacation when I did. I know everyone is rearing to go (so am I) but we're going to be playing this game for the better part of the next year, waiting a few extra days isn't going to kill us.

There's been some talk of a kickoff tournament after the game comes out to help get people in the swing of things while we wait for the roster update. Hopefully that will hold people over.

Nothing I can do about that. He's signed for a few years, so hopefully he's my QB for at least the first portion of the franchise. It'll certainly be something that's in the forefront of my mind when trading/drafting though.

I vote we wait, I'll be on vacation too! Plus I don't want a bunch of preseason scrubs taking up roster spots
