why have coach firing on if you are going to hurt those players (they will lose xp on the coach they used) so those players fall more behind the good players

but different ratings are different for teams, everyone is going to be going after players that fit their system well, not just the one stud

Fair point. We thought it would make for a fun dynamic, but it's true that we don't want to do anything which will increase the gap between the best players and everyone else. I'm not sure how easy or hard it is for a coach to actually get fired though, or how much impact coach XP has on actual gameplay.

None of this is set in stone yet.

I like the idea of "being on the hot seat" but if I have to restart my coach and lose what progress, if I can just resign with the same team then I say fire my ass

We're not turning it off. The title of the setting is a little misleading, that just means the game doesn't automatically sign free agents. I think it's similar to the auto-roster settings that offline franchise has always had, we're just turning that off so it's all manual.

Your team and Jim Schwartz already have a set offense and defensive system that you should buy into or face the consequenses........


On that note, BV (and everyone), should we have the option to chuck our coach, and make a new one with the system we would prefer.

If you have a 4-3 defense, Spread offense team. But want a 3-4, Ground and Pound (or whatever) , wouldn't it be reasonable to be able to fire your coach when we start and create a custom coach and system for you?

And I realize, if one did that the players on the roster wouldn't fit great, but we have 3-5 seasons ahead and it would be nice not to be stuck in a spread offense if you don't like it.

(This is all just an example, I don't intend on firing Andy and I'm gonna give the spread offence a shot)

And if firings can't be done manually, forget everything I just said.

We can rule that everyone creates a coach or use the coach in place. It wouldn't require firing, it'd be determined when you boot up the connected career. Just like the NCAA dynasty.

What Ramesu said. I think the expectation would be that everyone would create their own coach, in which case you can use whatever playbook/system you want and then find the players who fit that system. That's my understanding anyway.

Okay sounds good.

But obviously it would be in most peoples best interest to keep they're system. For example javing the Philly defensive roster run a 3-4 would just be silly.

I like to run both 3-4 and 4-3, so I plan on working on my roster with that in mind. I've got some good edge rushers, so I should have at least some flexibility from the outset.

I really like that you can't just plug anybody in anywhere though, it was way too easy to run a 3-4 in the past without a true nose tackle.

If you mean Suh and Fairley, I don't think either would be considered a nose tackle... The Lions run a 4-3 pretty much exclusively, don't they?
