That's what I figured. Probably makes sense to wait on the patch anyway. Hopefully just 2 more days, guys!

I gotta say, it's kind of weird that everyone is already looking to trade their best players.

Yeah, I think some people get a little crazy with the fantasy style GM bonanza. I'm just hopeful that the salary cap will put the kibosh on some of the huge moves. I'm all for improving your team, but it's a little hard to assess positions of need just yet. Hopefully it's mostly just people being anxious to get started. Pretty surprised to see Aaron Rodgers offered up. You can't do much better in a QB, so unless steggy is more of a speed/scrambling QB guy, and Rodgers just doesn't fit his style, I don't really get that one.

Yeah, but you leave out the full details of that trade. I gave up Vilma...which I didn't love, but needed to do to get Calvin, and I also gave up Robert Meachem because Blade needed an extra receiver. I also had another deal in place with the Jets to acquire Bart Scott for Mark Ingram. So, essentially, I traded Mark Ingram and Robert Meachem for Megatron...and took a slight downgrade at MLB. I didn't drastically alter my team. I reduced a crowded backfield, and upgraded my receiving corps.

Also, Megatron is being offered up again this year (not that I want him again...I've learned that receivers aren't really game changers in Madden). It's a little different trading one of the best QB's in the game, who basically accounts for the entire offense in GB. If steggy has his reasons, that's fine. I know he's a Packers fan...I just can't comprehend being a Packers fan and not liking Rodgers. That's all. Believe it or not, I'm saying this without any bias.

I'm a little surprised that people are always trying to trade Megatron, but maybe they think they can get a lot for him? I don't know. As long as people aren't making moves just for the sake of making moves, that's all I ask. I've always been in favor of hearing the thought process behind a trade...and not just "dat dude is good yo". It's different if it makes you a better team, or is a position that you have a surplus at, or even this year, if it gives you cap space to build for the future. Just something other than having a hard on for a particular guy.

Looking back I wish I wouldn't have traded megatron...

lol...I felt the same way about Vilma. Bart Scott just didn't give me the same production...and I didn't feel that Megatron made the impact I had hoped for since the passing game was so limited last year.

Yeah I don't get the whole "people trading away their best players in their prime" thing either. I mean Aaron Rodgers on the block looking for youth.....wtf is that? He isn't even 30, a top 3 QB in the league and the best QB in Madden and he's getting moved? Same thing applies to Megatron except that he's even younger than Rodgers. If this was real life half of the people in this league would be fired before training camp lol.

Well, for me, it has to be about fitting playing styles. The Megatron situation is a little easier to explain if you're somebody who is terrible at passing the ball, but is great at running the ball. In that situation, having the best receiver in the game is just a wasted resource, and might be better used bolstering your defense, o-line, etc. I'd just like to see those rationales being presented, rather than treating the players like trading cards.
