good point.

Plus you never know if Cena might see you and decide to body slam you for attacking The King.

Of all the Legends out there whose life would end up imitating art in this manner, referring to Randy the Ram and the heart attack he had in The Wrestler, I'd never have picked Lawler.

Here's a cellphone video of Lawler's collapse and being carted out of the arena. I spoilered it for anyone who chooses to not wanna subject themselves to seeing it:

Kurt Angle is at the top of my list. He will die in a wrasslin ring if he pulls a Terry Funk and never retires.

Here's another fan cam, a couple of rows behind the tech guys on the hard camera side. Pretty close up view of the guys carrying Lawler out. I noticed a WWE photographer is taking pictures though, which is who I think Cole waved away.

It seems kind of ed up she was taking photos, but she might not have known it wasn't an angle at first. I also assume it might be a photographer's nature just to snap pictures of anything that seems important. It also looks like she has a headset on, so I can't help but wonder if someone directed her to take pictures for liability purposes.

So I decided to watch the Ravens/Bengals game instead of Raw. Especially with the Ravens being my team and didn't expect anything to happen on Raw. I saw a text from my cousin this morning telling me about what happened. I immediately assumed it was a work until I looked into it further. Messed up. Hope he makes it through this.

For some reason Billy Joel's Movin' Out was on the radio earlier, and when he sings

Ah but working too hard can give you
A heart attack, ack, ack, ack, ack, ack
You ought-a know by now

I couldn't help but laugh a little. Should have known, Jerry.

Lots of rumors debunked:

Quote:
F4WOnline.com published a report clarifying rumors of WWE's handling of Monday's Raw show after broadcaster and wrestler Jerry Lawler suffered a heart attack while commentating.

According to a WWE employee backstage at the event, it was a very chaotic scene but he did not see any pray groups. Contrary to speculation, there was never any talk of halting the show.

WWE chief Vince McMahon was not at Lawler's side during the entire ordeal, as reported. He briefly checked on the backstage commotion during a commercial break before resuming his producing duties at Gorilla Position. Rather, Paul "Triple H" Levesque directed orders backstage.

All of broadcaster Michael Cole's on-air verbiage concerning Lawler was directed by McMahon word-for-word.

Get well soon Lawler.

His current role might rub some people, myself included, the wrong way, but given his age and the money that he probably gets to more or less talk about wrestling for a few hours a week, I can't say that I would turn it down. Even if I had to scream about puppies from time to time.

More importantly, at the end of the day, he has been on top of this crazy sport/business/industry for years and earned his spot the old-fashioned way, by putting on great matches and angles. King of Memphis indeed.

I don't think he would suffer brain damage. Remember a few months back, a soccer player collapsed and was clinically dead for about 90 minutes. He was ok and fine after being revived.

Sure he may be younger than Lawler and the situations/scenarios are different.

Hoping he is 100% recovered.

I was watching the broadcast last night and the first unusual thing I noticed was the crowd all looking at something off to the right. At the time I figured it was just a fight between drunk fans or something but then after a bit I realized there was no commentary. It wasn't until the crowd started chanting "JERRY!" that I realized he was either attacked by someone or he collapsed. Every time Cole started to speak about Jerry I thought he was going to announce he had died. The first time he spoke about it you could tell he had no idea if the King was going to make it or not, what a horrific situation to be put in. I am not really a Michael Cole fan but he gained my respect for the way he handled that situation, it must've been the worst hour of his entire life. Hopefully Jerry will be ok, and hopefully he can come back to commentate again (even if I don't really like his brand of commentary in this era). Last night was certainly a broadcast I will never forget.

I know everyone's attention in pro-wrestling today is turned to Jerry Lawler, but it is 9/11 after all. I just want to take a moment to say: This was a crazy powerful show just days after the disaster. Everyone talks about how MLB helped people get back to some normalcy, but Vince & Co. were doing it right away.

Random Jake Roberts appreciation post. I still think to this day he was the best heel promo guy of all-time. There are two things that are pathetic about Jake Roberts to me; he never won the heavyweight title and he's still not in the HoF. I know he is a mess outside of the ring but my God someone get his ass in the HoF before he croaks.

Here's a couple videos of his best promo's.

If he could get clean and stay clean for any real length of time they probably would. So, yeah, he'll probably never go in.

“Ok, here’s the latest real update. Lauren and I are here at the hospital in Montreal. He does not look good at all. He is responsive to questions that he is asked which is very good. His sedation and breathing support are being lowered slowly right now. He was shocked a total of 7 times at the arena and underwent a balloon stint to open up a clogged artery when he arrived at hospital. Everyone out there needs to say a special prayer for his brain at this point, please. Tests on his brain will not be available until the morning. One of us two will keep all you guys informed as we know more.”

For me, 1:05:30 takes most of the "power" the show had and flushes it down the ing toilet. Comparing the terrorist attacks to the steroid trial? you, Stephanie. Disgusting.
