Preorder bonus: Order the Neo Geo X Gold system (complete package), and get a separate game (Ninja Master's) as a physical card:

Games list (screenshots):

It sounds like Tommo (distributor) plans to bring out more games on cards. No word on future games yet, but the system comes with 20 games (see pic above).

Here is the Tommo website for the product with information:

Update 9/15/12 (from Siliconara):

Quote:
The NeoGeo X Gold looks like slick piece of hardware. It’s a console, handheld. and has a replica NeoGeo arcade stick. Oh, and it’s suggested retail price is *gulp* $199.99. While it is pre-loaded with 20 games, for $200 users should be able to add games to the system somehow.
And it looks like you can. The Japanese announcement says the NeoGeo X Gold has 2GB of flash memory on board and supports a 1-8GB SD or MMC card. The initial NeoGeo X Gold shipment in Japan includes a Ninja Master game card. This promotion has not been announced for North America at this time.

The NeoGeo X has a 1GHz CPU clock, 128MB system memory, runs Linux, has a 4.3 inch LCD screen with 480×272 pixel resolution in a 16 : 9 aspect ratio. In Japan, the NeoGeo X Gold costs 19,990 yen ($254) and comes out on December 18.

Update 9/18/12 (unconfirmed rumor):

The Neo Geo X is rumored to have a 2200mAH battery sufficient to run the system for about 6 hours. The Neo Geo X will charge via a micro-USB connector.

Now I'm kinda interested in the handheld, given the addition of Ninja Masters. I'd be more interested if it included an OLED screen as well.

preordered one in store today when I did my Wii u preorder. Guy wasn't sure if the game was a preorder bonus in the store too or not. Hope so, and I hope that means more games will be released for it; would love to get some of the old neo geo games that are still expensive to own in other formats

Game card looks to be a modified SD card. That means Neo Geo went from having the most ginormous cartridges ever created to the smallest.

Eh. I'd bite for Garou or some of the later KOFs, but I'm not hardcore enough to buy this for SNK's early stuff.

Pretty awesome, but that price is just a bit much for me. Plus, most of those games can easily be brought for 4-5$ each lol.

If theres a price drop and more good games come out, I'll leap on it. Otherwise I'll just use that 200$ toward my WiiU lol

What is this? Can anyone explain this to me?

NG and NG pocket were from the early 90s right?

I don't know anything about it, but it looks like it's a new handheld that plays (emulates?) the old Neo Geo games. The handheld comes with 20 games, and you can also dock it and play it on a TV/Monitor via HDMI with an old style arcade stick.

This looks really cool, but I'm not sure it's worth $200

If the stick was USB and could be used on Consoles/PC, then it'd skyrocket in possible value for me

Wow. That's pretty ing awesome. $200 doesn't sound like a bad deal but I'm sure I can pick it up on the cheap when they get clearanced a week after it launches. I'd preorder it if I thought that this had much of a chance to take off and we would see a good collection of games release for it.

Windjammers was insanely awesome. All of my friends wanted to play a fighter... which I have to admit, I enjoy Garou alot... but I much preferred Windjammers over anything else on the Neo Geo.

Would love to have the $200 bundle, but it's not in the cards at the moment.

now I dont know much about Neo Geo games or old Neo Geo Systems...but 200 bucks sounds insane to me...if this really is games from the 90s surely it should be $50 TOPS...Idk...it just seems like you could get so much more for $200...hell thats almost a Vita...

This is so tempting. Never owned a Neo Geo console.

Hmm...separately...the handheld/ costs $130, the joystick costs $50, and I'm guessing the dock costs $20.

Wow that's a little confusing. I thought this was an actual Neo Geo console instead of a portable system. The dock looks kind of like the original Neo Geo.

Price seems fair given that it is a portable system basically with TV output and an additional controller port like the Sega Genesis Nomad.

Don't know if I'll make it to December, while saving up towards a 3DS. So there will be more games besides the 20 for this Neo Geo X?! I wonder how much they will go for? I can't see myself paying more than maybe $20 for 1 game.

I only knew 1 person growing up that had a Neo Geo. The regular games were so damn expensive plus the cost of the system was crazy. I dropped so many quarters in the Neo Geo arcades cause you got a good variety of games to play.

Everyone always groans how if the roms were legal to won they would buy them and not pirate, then an option comes along and instantly it's too pricey... If you don't like the price don't buy it, done.
