for compressor, here is what I picked up during the research/use
you want to end up with a compressor with tank. reason for it is consistent air pressure. With tankless, as the motor spin and it tries to maintain the air pressure, the air pressure actually fluctuate as motor spin up/down which cause inconsistency. of course, with figure/gunpla, you don't have it on for a long time, so to get pass it, you point the airbrush away and then bring it onto the piece you are working with, avoiding the initial burst and the tail off. I got lazy so I went to buy the iwata compressor... but not like you can'pt do it with something cheaper. other than all the technical stuff, then it is just reliability. My first compressor died like really quick, i did buy it off tcp global as one of their air brush/compressor package. they replaced it right away and did not require me to send back the old compressor. that replaced unit has been working since as my clean unit... it is by my sink so I dicsconnect airbrush, bring the brush over and use this compressor to clean... I haven't done much with building any figure for a while after a move so hopefully it is still alive

no, in that pic or others, they are probably using one of those paint helper thing which has arms with aligator clips. let me find them real quick.
well can't find the one I am t hinking of, but here is something similar tho i don't know if they bends. http://www.amazon.com/Airbrush-Hobby.../dp/B004KNHGP0 dunno if they are pratical tho... much better imo to hold the part while you paint it. I use sticks, buy alligator clips, and stick them into styrofoam to dry like this. ![]() oh duh, in this pic I use putty to hold the pieces... I have a ton, some are with alligator clicps . edit: blu tack. I have a ton of it for some other use and they are very nice to hold atleast gunpla pieces to the skewer. http://www.amazon.com/Blu-Tack-Reusa...dp/B001FGLX72/ Last edited by wasabi5858; 05-21-2013 at 07:37 PM.. |

Blue tack, hmm wouldnt have thought it would hold the pieces.
I'm just scared of alligator clips, I'd assume they poke holes and scratch up your model piece, no? Keep hearing "putty" and my mind wanders to plumbers putty, used to seal leaks, very used to the stuff... what exactly do we call the putty to fix up air bubble holes or defects in kits? sorry very dumb when it comes to new things.

i use tamiya epoxy putty and/or mr surfacer primer depending on how big the job. for minor air bubble holes etc, mr surfacer will do.
there is also a mr surfacer primer for resin, tho I haven't use that b4. and for all I know, I probably use the terms wrong too |

yup, that's how you do it.
gunpla are gundam plastic model kit, the HG/RG/MG/PG etc . Bandai do have officially licensed Gundam resin kit released under the name of B-Club. Other resin kits (gundam/anime) are what they call garage kit from various people that are sold at various festival like wonderfest in japan where they receive temp license for the kit which makes it hard for people not in JP to get their hands on. |

I didn't recognize the name Vic Viper, but when I brought up the MFC page I could immediately tell it was Zone of the Enders. Revoltech Vic Viper (May 2013): ![]() Revoltech Vic Viper from AmiAmi (3050 JPY, ~$30): http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/det...e=TOY-RBT-3123 Revoltech Vic Viper from BBTS ($45): http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/p...76&mode=retail I haven't played ZOE in ages. The only name I remember is Jehuty. |

Just saw their Jehuty figma .... *drools*
But I want to find an unpainted figure.... >=D the Revoltech Jehuty looks a bit too shiny, the game ( I have the ZOE HD Collection, played recently) is more cell-shaded based, the mechs look too shiny IMO. I know its supposed to follow metal shines... but but but D= |

Link and Samus are being re-released in Japan as well! This is great news since they will come out sooner (Sept vs Nov) and be cheaper ($30 vs $50, $62 vs $100) than the US re-releases. Check op for links.
I'm debating getting seconds of Link and Samus Figmas. I've never bought two of the same figure before, but these are so amazing and I plan on using the ones already opened for pics. On a sad note, Otacute has announced they will be closing later this year (around October is their current estimate). They will stop accepting pre-orders at the end of May. I've used them a few times and enjoyed their service. -Edit- Ordered 2nd copies of Figma Link and Samus to keep misb. Last edited by lilman; Today at 10:21 AM.. |

Nice. Gonna cancel my BBTS order for 2nd copies and get them from AmiAmi since that's about a $40 savings.

Yeah that sucks about Otacute, only known about them recently but it's always terrible when online stores go out of business.

Edit: Finally went ahead and myself an MFC account. Is the site cool about adding stuff? I've got a bunch of NECA, GamingHeads, and other brands that aren't represented, but I'm not sure if they're trying to stay Japan-centric. http://myfigurecollection.net/collection/ActionKazimer Double edit: Nevermind. Looks like they strive for Japanese only in their guidelines. That kinds sucks. Last edited by ActionKazimer; Today at 02:15 PM.. |

Seems to be the season for re-releases: Kaiyodo is re-releasing the Tokusatsu Revoltech No.020 Skeleton!
http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/det...e=FIG-KAI-2411 Once they're released, I expect an exponential increase in the number of humorous pics involving them, Revoltech Creepy Woody, and Revoltech Snake. Get on it, Internet! |
