Looking for deals on Sprint Phones

Preferably the Galaxy 3, but any newer one will be fine. Anyone know any deals on ones? I refuse to buy one from craigslist for obv reasons.

What are the obvious reasons? I've bought/sold tons of phones on CL with no hiccups.

Just meet at a sprint store so that you can make sure the esn is clear. You'll be fine.

Even if you can't/don't want to meet at a Sprint store you can still meet the person wherever and tell them you want to call in the ESN before you pay them. If they aren't cheating you they won't care.

Its not about the ESN, its that the phone may have some other problem that isnt noticeable without checking it out/using it for like a hour. I mean I could always look for people selling brand new ones, but leads me to think they are stolen. And finally, here in San Antonio, I run into ALOT of really retarded/fishy people on Craigslist when I respond to them. Just want to save the headache.

Then I would say you probably won't find a "deal" considering all of those things.

Ways to get phone for cheap:

1. Have an upgrade/be on new contract
2. Craigslist
3. eBay (same "concerns" you list as CL)
4. Random "hookup" (someone who is selling on CL/eBay anyway)

So basically I hope you have an upgrade. Otherwise, pay the full price for the phone. If you expect to get some type of "deal" there is always going to be shadiness that comes with it.

EDIT: Especially when you want the newest and greatest. Go search Amazon for new no-contract Sprint phones. Maybe you can get an Evo 4G or something at a halfway decent price without upgrading, but if you want an S3 expect to pay for it, or to feel a little shadiness/worry when buying it cheaper.

Just search CL for a new one. When you meet up call in on the ESN and if they say it is clear have a clear head and new phone.

Do you have insurance on your line? If so, buy a used one and if something happens use the insurance. If you don't, buy the used one, when you activate it talk the rep into giving you insurance, test the phone for a month, use or drop insurance next month as needed.

Amazon has the Galaxy S3 for $99.99, but you gotta be a new Sprint customer.

I'm pretty sure you can add insurance when you activate a new phone on your account, whether it is new or not.

Just be aware that the 'insurance' has a 100 deductible for a lot of types of damage.

I don't think they are supposed to give you insurance, but when you activate any new phone it is usually real easy to get them to do it anyway. Even if you called up a little upset with any old phone they'd probably do it, Sprint is easy to manipulate.

And, yes, you have to pay the deductible. If it was me I'd just try and get a brand new one, but you can try and go the used/insurance route if you think it will save $. It will be more of a hassle to do it the used way though.

I've used insurance with no problem on a used galaxy s2 sprint phone I got from craigslist. I asked them when I called and they told me for insurance it used to matter but now it doesn't. Still had to pay the deductible and all.

Iphone releases are when I usually get a used phone from craigslist. Right around when they come out people are itching to get rid of their old ones.

I see phones on that cowboom site sometimes, you can browse there and they rotate the line often.
