If anyone can confirm or deny the possibility of purchasing now and coming back Saturday afternoon to PM with the gift card?
It won't work. If you return, you'll have to wait 24 hours before rebuying the same product.

When I read my last post again, I realize I shouldn't be buying another 360. But this is so damn tempting! I can maybe find it worthwhile. AHHHHH!!

I've seen multiple people quote $95 for a 360 at GS. What model is that? I just got a quote of $75 for my 60GB HDMI 360. If I could get ~$100 for it I'd probably just trade it and buy a new one (I bought this one used and would rather a brand new one).

(and really hoping Amazon will jump on this too)

Amazon won't do this. They don't need to. If they did it with a $50 gift card people would probably prefer going to them.

Anyway, they're getting $95 because with a wireless controller and core system it's $70 and then there is an extra $25 promo/coupon for trading in a current-gen system.

The 360 core unit is $70 w/wireless controller. Add on the $25 hardware tradein bonus that runs through sunday, and you have $95.

ok... here in my city, ads on the local newspaper are very popular. I have sold tons of stuff locally, and it's very easy and quick. All the sales are locally, so I don't have to pay shipping, PayPal, etc... plus, a regular ad would be something like $10 for one week.

Would it be a good business to buy, let's say, a couple of Arcades, then sell each one for $190, tax-free and keep the Gift Cards to myself? If I sell both systems, I could go and buy another couple... and so on...

What do you think?

Come on. Let people that would actually use them buy them. It's not like guides or something that are going to be thrown away. This is someone that people buy to use.

What do you think? You just ask people on cheapassgamer on where to invest your money?

I was leaning towards buying ONE and selling it on craigslist to keep the gift card. The more I think about it I want to buy it and keep the arcade though. Because if I buy and sell for the gift card I'll still be paying $20-$30 for the $100 gift card.

So I have to decide if I'd rather pay $210 for an arcade and the gift card, sparing the hassle of craigslist stupidity....

Also, I don't support buying and reselling, especially if you're buying more then one. You need money? Go find a job or develop some real skills. If you can't make it in this world, then you aren't cut out for it. Heard of "survival of the fittest"? Buying and reselling for gift cards isn't going to give you a load of money and it's not going to save you. Only the strong survive.

Oh believe me, I have skills... I'm a graphic designer, and I do publicity, but the company I was working for, just went out of business.

I have been not working since like a month ago, and I can't find any job right now.

What all is required when trading in a system at GS. I have a non-hdmi, powerbrick, av cables, and wireless controller. Do I need a HDD, headset, or anything else?

The system is just so damn loud and would not mind getting a newer system.

WTF is this post. Contemplating reselling, condemning those who do, and then comparing it all to Darwin? Are you saying you are not the fittest? Should you go find a job? What if someone can make it in this world as a reseller? Possibly the silliest post I have ever seen.

I just ran down to my Walmart and bought it. Came to like $212.

I'll go in after my Accounting class and see if they will PM it with the gift card. Unless I get a manager I don't know or a Nazi of a worker, I seem them allowing me to return/rebuy it. If not, whatever, not a big loss. I'll just have to cut a few days off my intended MW2 time.

Taken from SlickDeals:

Called 3 different Walmarts in my area and got the same answer.

They said that you can return rebuy an item if it is sealed. I asked about the gift card and they said the same. I did not think to ask of specific doorbuster deals, but my guess is that will be the YMMV part. I would not think any company would want to promote that.

Personally, I just wanted to know in general, because then there is a greater chance of it working simply because (as stated before) most Walmart employees seem not to care.

I think I will just go ahead and buy one today, and go to the store and try to get one that way too. After I get one, then drop it in the car and try to return/rebuy. If it doesn't work, I will just return.

I want to get one for my school, so I can use it as a reward for kids to come in and play at lunch.

Thanks. The guy on the phone quoted $60 for the 360 and another $15 for the hard drive, no mention of bonus/coupon though. Maybe he just misquoted and meant $70. I just looked at the details and it says not good on cash trade-ins. Gamestop credit is useless to me, so I'll have to pass on that deal.

I don't even want to waste time returning and rebuying. They better have it when I go in there. Then I'm going to sell it on craigslist to some winner for a good price packaged with some old things I have.

Why do I do this?

It's one console and I'm going to help out someone who's unaware of the good deals to be had. But, I'll let them in on a good price better than the stores. I'll then have already gave money to Walmart and then I'll end up putting in more money into other stores.

Win-Win for this economy.

I mean it's definitely YMMV, but at Wal-Mart, it's probably more lenient than say a place like BestBuy. I'll have everything with me: receipt and console. It's either a make or break. Don't give it to me, I'll return it. Give it to me, you keep the sale.

To be honest, I don't see why they wouldn't. Its just like a price adjustment at other stores. When I make that return, even if I can't rebuy it, I'll go back to electronics and say I saw a guy bringing one in.

On top of that, Cheapy said the deal was until 11/13 or until sell out. What would stop me from seeing the ad on say 11/11 and doing it then, seeing as it really isn't a total doorbuster.

EDIT: How many people will know about this deal. Since there is no ad in the open yet, will there even be one. I have seen them for 11/8 and 11/15, but maybe this so called doorbuster is just a deal they are running in store. I remember buying my 80GB PS3 and free Blu-Rays that way. I didn't know about the deal and I forgot how I knew about it, but definitely wasn't in an ad from what I remember. I think.

Go and post all over Craigslist about this Walmart deal then...
