Hey guys, whats your advice on a ballistic knife class? i was just trying it out to have some fun, i like having the ax and scavenger, but they might not be needed. also messing around with the tac 45 w/ long barrel

The opponents score is pretty irrelevant. You need to maximize the number of points with 3 positions capped and minimize points with 1 or 2.

What is it, a point per position per second? If you score too many points with one or two positions captured you'll reach the score limit before those 3 minutes elapse.

April 10 Xbox 360 Game Update Notes

Feature Improvements

  • Added Prestige Level Calling Cards for each Prestige Level.
  • Players will now control the last Scorestreak called when calling in multiple remote controllable Scorestreaks.
  • Updated the League Lobbies to display Team Rank next to each Team Member’s name.
  • Added Suicide and Team Killed Penalties to the Game Rules/Spawn Settings Menu for Custom Games.
  • Added a feature to kick players if they suicide too often in a game.
Multiplayer Issues Addressed

  • Fixed an issue reported by the community where the Lodestar view remains on screen if the VTOL Warship is destroyed after being previously kicked from the VTOL due to friendly fire.
  • Updated Menus to combat exploits reported by the community.
  • Addressed a persistent Counter UAV issue that occurred during host migrations.
  • Fixed an issue reported by the community where the player was not earning any progress for the Chopper Hunter Field Specialist challenge.
  • Fixed an issue reported by the community where C4 was doing no damage to enemies if blown up the moment it attaches to a surface.
  • Addressed an issue reported by the community with activating Prestige on a weapon not removing attachments from that weapon in other class sets.
  • Prestige Master icon can now be seen as the ‘next Prestige’ when players reach the max Prestige Level.
  • Resolved an issue with the Orbital VSAT Scorestreak losing time during the host migration count down.
  • Resolved a collision issue on Grind which caused the player to become stuck on the vert ramp.
  • Fixed an issue where players were able to place a turret while under the big rig in Aftermath.
  • Addressed a couple issues with the Sentry Gun and AGR Scorestreak tablets remaining open when the player transitions to the Scorestreak while it is being destroyed.
  • The Attachments menu in the After Action Report now indicates the XP a player earns from leveling up a weapon.
  • Resolved an issue where players would lose control of Sentry Guns if they take control of it while it is being destroyed.
  • Fixed an issue with Turret and Guardian placement within certain objects in Aftermath.
  • Improved performance in Theater when a player Previews a Clip over and over again while their Clips in the Timeline Editor are maxed out.
  • Fixed an issue with the environment disappearing when dying and spectating the water in Carrier.
  • The music now plays for everyone during the Final Killcam.
  • Addressed an issue on PlayStation 3 where the Listen In toggle, while CODcasting, was listening to all whether it was toggled on or not.
  • Fixed an issue in Theater where the camera viewed under the map while watching players that had not spawned in.
  • Resolved an issue with the AGR icon only appearing on the mini-map when it was firing both the machine gun and rockets at the same time.
  • Resolved an issue with the Victory/Defeat screen not accurately displaying the amount of XP a player had earned in Objective based game modes on Combat Training.
  • Addressed multiple issues with reloading the War Machine Scorestreak.
  • Adjusted the Scoreboard columns when CODcasting Free For All to display points in the first column instead of player score.
  • Fixed an issue with the HUD pushing off the screen when CODcasting in Theater during a round transition.
  • Resolved an issue in Theater where Party Leaders could not render videos while players joined the lobby.
  • Addressed an issue with the Chat Notification not appearing on the in game screen for players who were speaking in Party Chat.
  • Fixed an animation issue for the Combat Knife when holding aim down sight and pressing the melee attack button.
  • Resolved an inconsistency in the Emblem Editor with the way emblems were being displayed between profiles.
  • Resolved an issue in the Player Channel where deleted screenshots and edited films were appearing as an error when viewed by another player.
  • Addressed an issue in the League Play slide menu where the Career Wins stat was not updating for previous seasons when the player had not yet been placed.
  • Fixed an issue with the Game Settings Update prompt getting cut off when choosing to update after the idle screen fade out.
  • Resolved an issue with the gondolas on Downhill continuing to move during a host migration.
  • Fixed an issue with the Emblems on Playercards viewed from the in-game Scoreboard showing corruption.
  • Addressed an issue in Search and Destroy where players would sometimes spawn into the next round with their secondary weapon.
  • Resolved an endless loading prompt to connect to Twitch when attempting to unlink and re-link accounts with no login information.
  • Fixed a Twitch/Twitter menu issue where some fields were still accessible while connecting to Twitch/Twitter.
  • Resolved a UI issue with rapidly using Like and Dislike on user generated content.
  • Fixed an issue with the equipped DLC reticle displaying the wrong preview reticle when going from a DLC reticle to any other reticle equipped on another weapon.
  • Addressed the Hellstorm Missile boost button prompt not updating correctly for some controller button layouts.
  • Addressed multiple menu layering issues.
  • Fixed an issue with the laser effect not appearing in game on a Laser Sight if the player spams the Switch Weapons button.
  • Addressed an issue with the mini-map overlapping the objective text when a CODcaster has the control panel open.
  • Resolved an issue with the Bacon and Dia De Muertos DLC camos not appearing on enemy weapons when the player is using a weapon that has the Millimeter Scanner attachment equipped.
  • Fix for League Season History and League Leaderboard UI errors.
  • Fixed an issue in CODtv paging logic where we were losing one item every time we page back from page 3 to 2
Gameplay Balancing

  • Adjusted Hijacked engine room Hardpoint zone to extend to ladders.
  • Lightning Strike Radar will not reactivate after round change if it has been used in a previous round.
  • Global enemy spawn influencers adjusted.
  • Adjusted objective spawn influencers in Capture the Flag.
Zombies Issues Addressed

  • Fixed a UI Error that occurred on Turned.
  • Resolved various bugs around the Die Rise map.

Treyarch has always been the better Call of Duty company. They actually seem to care about the game and the players.

As for Uprising: Magma looks neat, Encore looks like something outta Rainbow Six Vegas, Vertigo looks like that airport map from Modern Warfare 2(?), and Studio is said to be a remake of Firing Range—which is probably my favorite map from the first Black Ops.

All that said: I prefer small maps. Deleted the first map pack because the maps were too big. Hopefully Uprising is worth keeping.

The story is decent and fun to play through. Overall I'm pleased with the zombie DLC. They are trying lots of new things like being able to carry multiple parts, brought back traps, new wonder weapon and a couple other smaller aspects (demon dogs, spawn able bosses etc).

A majority of the achievements aren't hard and can be solo'd

Studio (shooting range remake) is still awesome.

Encore is good. Offers some line sites, but nothing easy to hold down. Spawning is meh.

Magma was a decent try. Not bad, just not great. Plenty if head glitch spots. Spawning is pretty decent on this map for the most part (depending on game mode). Biggest slap in the face is the Magma. Some spots you can stand on piping hot magma (bright orange) and be fine then next time you step on a slightly charred ground (barely orange) and die. Also they touted how the magma "flowed" and in trailers they show it flowing, BUT they apparently scrapped it completely.

Vertigo is probably the worst. There's a reason why they scrapped it in a previous CoD. Not the worst map in BO2, but not good. Long line sites that can easily be impenetrable as half the map is open. Easy to fall off ( I kind of like that, but it is annoying at times). Plenty of head glitch spots also. Basically 2 long line if sights on the sides and then a cluster area in the middle. Bomb locations are also pretty bad as they lead you out into the open that defense can easily secure faster than offense can get there. Overall bad map design.

Overall the map pack is alright. studio by far redeems it on the MP side. Without it I would feel the map pack wasn't worth it.

hmm well good to hear Studio & Encore are good, im looking forward to those. you have me worried about dat lava, its gotta be consistent or not at all. vertigo sounds like a sniper fest with smoke & dual band, kill confirmed might be interesting on that one.

Studio is good, it was oddly familiar...then shortly after I realized that its a Firing Range remake...LOL. Great map!

I think this map is above and beyond better than the first. I personally wasn't a fan of the first. It wasn't so much that I hated the maps, I just thought the original maps were better (except for Aftermath which is probably my most hated maps right next to Seelow from World at War).

I mostly play Kill Confirmed, so here is my input on the maps based on that game mode, Domination, and TDM.

Studio really doesn't need much of an explanation. If you liked Firing Range, you'll like it as nothing has changed.

Encore is really good for KC and I'm not a huge fan of it for Domination. Can't remember what flag is which, but the one that is in the lower courtyard seems to have an advantage at getting B. To me it is one of the better designed maps with a lot of fighting in the middle, but very easy to flank on the outskirts due to not too many people watching them.

Vertigo is a very fun map for both Domination and Kill Confirmed and seems to be one of the better balanced maps for Domination. For KC, it seems like the opposite of Encore where most of the action takes place on the outsides. Also to the previous post, this wasn't the same map that was scrapped. The previous one scrapped was a IW map for MW2 that was supposedly scrapped for being too similar to Highrise.

Magma is another one that I think was well done. I can't really say I've ran into the problems that the previous post mentioned about the inconsistency of the magma killing you. I think I have died twice from it and both times I accidentally strafed a little too far into it while shooting at someone. It has decent sight lines and consists mostly of three main pathways of two streets and a rail line/platform. It is another map that can be easy to flank on if a team tends to overcrowd one side. I am also wondering what happened with the flowing magma though (besides the small river that is flowing consistently like a river through the center of the map).

I really don't see the "head glitch" that so many people talk about. On these four maps, I can only think of one spot and that is on Magma on the upper street outside of the only building you can enter on that side next to a gray box. I know there are some spots in the original maps, but even then I don't really have too much of a problem getting the people that try it.

You really think vertigo is good for Dom? B is just a cluster of bulletstorms. That's alright and all, but on the helipad side one good sniper or LMG can hold it down completely as there is too long of sight lines and not a good way to flank as the middle is the only way around. The opposite side (near B flag) is decent but the second you walk out of that room there's that marble statue that can be a massive pain if the person behind it is good. Also the ramp up from the original spawn is just wide open with that box on the corner so upper ground is a little too good.

These become more glaring when playing SnD as you normally have to play the waiting game because defense can set up too easily and faster than offense can. Meaning offense has to wait out the defense and hope they become impatient or over think their strategy.

And to describe encore better to those that haven't played it. Its basically a giant oval with 5 ways into the middle where B flag is (also has an overlooking window and a stage with scaffolding). The only area that I wish they would have done differently is the side opposite the stage. Its one hallway with only a stack of boxes on one side. Way too open and easy to camp. Besides that, its actually a pretty well designed map as the middle has just enough clutter to not make it sniper heaven. Although I laughed at what they said in the trailer about "holding the stage being pivotal". Its rather open and if you are holding it you're definitely doing amazing as its easily overtaken. B flag isn't even on the stage! Why would they not throw the flag up there?

But for those zombie seekers, Mob of the Dead is fun. Just completed the achievements (with a little help where we got stuck) and its pretty good. Not the best map ever for those that want to hit high rounds as its not set up very well for that, but to do the EEs and mess around its pretty good. Also the new mystery box looks epic. It also has some very fun new weapons in the box and for the first time a "quest" melee weapon which is simply OPed. That and the Hell's Retriever tomahawk is fun to mess around with.

Finally played some grief on Alcatraz. Its actually much better than the other maps. The only thing that is both good and bad is there's no Jug. I like it as it makes you pay attention, but then there are always the windmill zombies that double hit you in a split second which annoys the heck out of you. Besides that its pretty enjoyable. No real "run in circles" spots that the rest of the grief maps had which makes it interesting.

I guess a big part of that is if you have a competent team. Which I will not even touch anything but KC or maybe TDM unless there are at least 3 other friends with me. I made the mistake the other day of thinking, "Oh I'll try the Uprising domination playlist by myself..." After 45 seconds I realized my teammates appeared to have thought that when the flags were red they were ours. I literally watched as two guys sat near B and killed one guy that kept running to check on it. I have actually not seen a single sniper on the helipad side of the map yet (or at least I haven't been killed by one).

I would like to ask if you are aware of the internal struggles Infinity Ward and all the legal b******* they had to deal with with Activision. MW and MW2 were shinning examples for the genre.

Yup. Was hoping for some more 2x gun XP. Been going for those diamonds and only have ARs left. Would be nice to max out the other weapons as I think I only 100% the SMGs, auxiliary weapons (got my shield maxed last 2x Gun XP) and secondaries.

On a side note, who thought up to get one shot kills with shotguns? 2 of them have the range of a knife even on HC. At least they buffed range some on them and yes I'm using barrel/reticle. Yeh it's not difficult to get, just time consuming as you either need to camp a CQB or get 1/2 the kills not count as 1H1K
