Can you name the old dude that runs the Oscars? Dude gets up on stage and gives a little speech that is seen by billions. Surely he's a celebrity.

I have to agree with Corvin on this. Even if there where 4 million individual people downloading that is only them listening to it once in a 5 or so year span in time. That in itself is unlikely and I have probably downloaded 75 of them, so the people that subscribe to the show is actually much less than 4 million individuals. I have no idea how many registered users Penny Arcade has but lets give them 4 million as well for this experiment.

Now the United States has a population estimate of 311.6 Million people. So to give the CAGcast or Penny Arcade the benefit of the doubt I am going to say there are 312 million people in the United States and they have 4 million loyal listeners weekly or registered users. That is only 1.28% of the general United States population. That is not A-List at all...and trust me that's just a fraction of the almost 7 billion people in the world. After all we are talking internet celebrity here and every address starts off world wide web dot.

To me I think of the Cagcast as A-List in my household and my kids think they are A-List because I provide that illusion for them. However, when my kids go to school I have provided them with a social awkwardness by giving them the illusion that the CAGcast is A-List material when in all actuality the CAGcast is not. So when it comes time for ice breakers and talking about what you like, all the other kids will be talking about Elmo or Spongebob and they can all relate. Than my kid is going to get up there and talk about taking huge shits and big ass chains and no one, not even the teacher will know what he is talking about. After that my kid will be alienated from all social groups in his school because I thought it would be fun telling him that the CAGcast is A-List and everyone knows them.

I thought the question was A list "internet" celebrities, not A list celebrities in general. I translated internet celebrities to mean "geek" celebrities, so that could be a bad translation in my part. If we are talking general celebrities I don't think any geek celebrity would be even close except for Wil Wheaton just because of tNG.

I think Wombat was in the right in spending some time discussing the whole issue with the 360 account banning, it was nice to see the issue resolved, and some good points were made. Issues with MSFT Customer Service led me to ultimately switch over to a PS3, even after the issue was resolved with Microsoft.

As for a B list internet celebrity, how about the Epic Meal Time guys?

I'd like to be thrown in the hat for a PS3 version of the Dead Island DLC, please.

Yes Kodos that was the question that they asked on the CAGcast. We are using celebrities that just got there fame from the internet and got the most out of it.

Yes it was a misinterpretation thinking all internet celebrities are "Geek's" Though we all like the CAGcast we all have a fondness for them so we use that fondness to justify giving them higher rankings because they mean more to us. It's like how most parents think their kid is the cutest, but there are millions more cute babies out there and they are bias because it's their own kid.

I like Wil Wheaton; however, that is more of an opinion of him being the closest to a "Geek Ambassador" Celebrity. But the term "Geek" is so broad that many people can be put in that category. One "geek' that I can think of is J.J. Abrams from everything he has done screams geek. So at this time I think J.J. Abrams is more popular than Wil Wheaton at this time.

But once again we are talking internet celebrities and not real celebrities, I like Wil Wheaton better than J.J. Abrams but I know that J.J. is better known at this point in time.

Interesting that you mentioned Downton Abbey. Just finished watching the first series myself, and it's fantastic. Cheapy, have you seen the second series yet? I haven't but I'm wondering if they kept the quality bar as high. My hopes are good, though.

Wait, why would you buy an Xbox account?

Accounts that are for sale seem to most often be sold without their owner's consent. It's definitely something to be wary of.

Hi,

Saw a thread from 360a a month ago regarding free Dead Island DLC for the Xbox360? If so, could I get Arena? Thanks

James K.
