On mine I can only notice it when I am opening the door to the SD card slow. When the door is closed and clicked fully into place I can't tell.

Of course when opening the door it almost feels like I am going to be ripping the back plastic plate off. Even with that though it still feels more sturdy than my original 3ds.

Anybody else have dead pixels? I can only notice them when the screen is black, but I have two red ones and a green one. They don't affect gameplay, but can get annoying.

no dead pixels here, but if i would've gotten any I would've exchanged that sucker asap.

Broke down and returned an unopened mario 3ds bundle back to target and went with the XL instead. It's nice but I am noticing the back being so rounded and smooth that it feels slippery to me. My hands don't sweat a lot but I can see this being even worse for sweaty palms players.

I don't have any dead pixels but I do have a white blotch on my touch screen. It's a faint, small white blotch that is annoying just because I'm already aware that it's there. I think I'm going to take it back and swap it for another one today.

this makes me hopeful we'll be getting new colors in the coming months.

I have a pink 3ds I might just trade it in for a red XL kinda hate taking out my pink 3ds in public. ^__^

just make a small donation to the Komen foundation, get a pink ribbon sticker and be proud you're rockin your pink 3DS...personally the white/pink I prefer over the current US releases.

I only notice a dead pixel when playing RE Revelations, but when I'm playing other games it doesn't appear. I'm just going to live with it as it isn't noticeable unless I really try to look for it. I've also added a screen protector with no dust underneath so thats why I am reluctant on exchanging it lol.

I tried to put my screen protectors on my XL tonight. The top one went on great, aside from a couple air bubbles I had to smooth out.

The bottom one was a real motherer, though. No matter how much tape I used, every time I got it perfectly centered and laid, there were a couple specks of dust underneath it. I kept at it until I finally put a big scratch on the protector with my credit card when I was trying to push out some bubbles. In a fit of rage, I pulled it off and trashed it. I'll just be extra careful with the touch screen. Or I may order another set. I don't know. It's weird, though, because I've had no trouble applying any screen protectors to all my other DS systems.

tried the 3DS XL at target the other day, it was blue...and I gotta say, it's quite nice. even the blue one, my reservations are starting to wear down. I will hold out til black friday.

I finally got my hands on a demo unit, too. Nice than I expected. The matte plastic feels much better as a surface surrounding the buttons and analog nub, and maybe it's just me but the d-pad seems to have more of a solid click to it similar to the d-pad on the DSi. There's also just more console to grip when pushing the buttons, which makes it easier on the hands.

Not in any hurry to upgrade since I just bought a new laptop, but if I find a killer deal on Craigslist or over the holidays, I doubt I'll be able to resist.
