Ok so since my battery has died

i've been using my charger as power till my new battery arrives
But now... after playing with the charger for a minute or 2... the psp freezes up... blank screen.... greeen light still on... wait for about 5-10 mins and it boots up but freezes up within a minute or 2

Plz.. can any1 give me some advice as to wat the problem is? Anyone go through the same thing? It freezes randomly, at menus XMB, and games. It also asks me to set the time everytime it crashes.

The question of the hour is:

Did you put homebrew/downgraders/emulators on your PSP?

he said his battery is dead and he is playing from the charger. I am assuming he doesnt have a battery which is a huge mistake.

Yea, thanks, I can read his post.

I was referring to the whole freezing-up issue he mentioned. I think that is probably a much larger problem then *ahem* a missing battery.

In fairness, PSPs work odd when the battery isn't connected. You can't upgrade the firmware unless your battery has two bars (even if it's plugged in) and I've had trouble playing games at times when the battery isn't plugged in. Furthermore, I've done no homebrew on my PSP so this could just be one of the many oddities of the system. Regardless, you'll need a new battery eventually. If you're using your PSP for homebrew or emulation that'll be the big problem.

the psp probably isnt really design to run without a battery, as a battery would control the power going in. There is a greater chance of damaging your PSP without one.

As for homebrew and emulator they have almost no chance of causing any problem cause they usually dont write to the flash. However one homebrew, custom firmware, will protect your psp from bricking and allow you to restore setting.

i got a battery and still same problem. No homebrew on it either it just freezes in the menu sometimes or while i am playing a game like on Killzone liberation i was running then it stopped reading the commands any button i pressed didn't matter he just keep running until he hit the mine. and the turn it off i have to take out battery. Also when my battery was dead i had the battery still inside but it was at Charge Complete 0%. So probably the same as without. What i decided to do is leave the battery, umd, and mem card out of the psp for a few days. i read that helps sometimes.
