It really angers me, I just got off a few hour binge of 2004 and i had to get off because people just suck and couldn't take orders from someone who knows what the he was doing. It just took 6 guys on my team to unsuccessfully defend the base from ONE baddie. Before that the same 6 guys were trying to kill someone who was in the base and it took me to come in there and kick his ass.

Another thing about this is the lack of a command structure. I was trying to coordinate attacks and skirmishes but to no avail. There was one guy who, though he didn't have a mic, got the big picture and did what I said. It really angers the blood when people talk smack in the game when the get one frag and than immediately get smack 10 times before they hit the ground.

Now I'm not saying I'm an awesome player. I need allot of work, but when we could have been working together to win they were running around like chickens with their head cut off.

Oh well.

I think they need to play more bot maches to hone their skilz.

*chuckles* I used to practice against bots in q3 and in CS thats one thing stopping me from picking UT04 not sure I want to get into the whole have to be the best have to be better deal.

I have not even gotten to go online with UT2K4, but I doubt I would get stomped.

I may look like I do not know what I am doing, but I usually help out more than others (go after the nodes that no one is at to draw away the fire and allow others to advance)

I have all the games but never really put much time into any of them. When I hook back up my internet (need to install my router) than I will start to see what all the fuss was about

You also have to consider that some people will play more than one game. If all you do is play UT2K4 all day, then you will obviously blow other players out of the water. And the more casual gamer will do well to avoid such a person.

Maybe other people just don't like taking orders from you.

Play deathmatch if you get angry at people not following your orders. No one to order around.

exactly, i play ut2k4 when im bored and usually just screw around. dont really care about goals or scores.

I'm only good at UT2k4 when I'm stoned and have Iron Maiden blasting in the background. Otherwise I'm mediocre. Like Graystone said, some people are just there to have fun. I'm in UT for violence, speed, mayhem, and gore. I'm not in it for tactical action. The dudes you've been playing with probably feel the same.

That's one of the things about online fps. For example, I can't play CS. I might be in the top players by spending a year playing seven hours a day... And I'll still get owned. There are too many players, hacks are still out there, and the amount of time some people dedicate is insane.

If I can make a recommendation, play FA. It's like a mix between TFC and CS. Think of CS but slightly more forgiving. With body armor you can still get one shot kills easily but you can take a couple slugs to the chest if necessary.

The reason I mention it is that the player base is small. So you're less likely to be in a crappy game. The only major problem with FA is that most of the maps are unbalanced. But it takes skill. and is very reqarding. Especially if you master the famas. A lot of elite fa players state the famas is for Newbies. But you need real skill to use it effectively. It's a little unbalanced because of it's ROF. So, you'll see it with newbies and advanced players.

I haven't played in a year. I use to be good. really good. an 8 out of 10 in skill. But that was awhile ago.

Firearms Another half life Mod. Works with steam. militaryt theamed. it's not Desert Combat. It's a lot older game. Think of it more Like CS but in a military atmosphere. There are skills, artilary, medivacing, a point system for weapons load, it's nice.

Yeah, it's not like the UT series is considered to be a big, tactical strategic action series. Perhaps you don't understand the series. Maybe YOU'RE just not playing the right way. What a silly thing to complain about.

Good point or maybe they just dont play it that much because they are all on this site and like me have too many other games to play

some peoples computers are outdated, and they use old video cards, which barely pass the minimum requirements. they would lag like hell and stuff, and usually die and lag.

Some people were just not meant to play games either (all online games are gonna have a group of people that will NEVER figure out how to play...I KNOW, played EQ for 3 years and i've seen it in worse cases) Then again, most people wont take a alien deathmatch game like UT seriously and only want to see the blood and guts. Just know that you are better than they are, and all is good.

Welcome to the world of Online Gaming..It's been getting worse and worse every year, best bet is to find serious gamers online or a clan server other wise your going to keep getting ego inflated pre teens that have way to much times on there hands.
