In my opinion any of the Warcraft series. Each time they come out with one they continue to redefine the genre.

Definately has to be Starcraft.

Starcraft is good but it just seems to be a copy of Warcraft but done in a sci-fi setting, which doesn't make it bad. This game is in my top five but i just feel that Warcraft is better.

My favorite was the original C&C

Age of Empires gets my vote.

Starcraft, which took warcraft, added a third race and had it stay almost perfectly balanced.

It was such a step above warcraft 2 and a fabulous story as well. Warcracft III was a great game that I enjoyed but I don't feel it was near as larage a step.

I never could really get into C&C. I played through the american mission of the C&C generals but it just din't seem to have the same charge.

I played through a lot of Age of Empires 2 but it just felt like so much filler.

Well those are my thoughts.

I would have to agree about C&C although i have played most of themm, but i never could get into them. I don't know why but ty seem very unbalanced.

Dune 2, Warcraft 2 and C&C: Red Alert are my favorites

Warcraft is probably the best series, C&C comes in 2nd ... I never got into 'Age of ' games ...

I would say the Warcraft series. Anyone here play Empire Earth? I thought that was a pretty fun game.

WarCraft 3 - added two new races and heroes
C&C Red Alert - absolutely wonderful
C&C Generals - Beautiful and rascist

Age of Mythology was pretty cool too.

Battle Realms looked like it would be cool, but damn if that's not one of the hardest PC games I've ever played.

Ill vote Rise of Nations. I just bought it (after 3 days playing the demo) and I can hardly stop playing it. Its a great game.
I also like the Star Trek: Armada games. They are not the best RTS games, but for a Trekkie its great to command huge fleets of ships I see on the show.

starcraft. i like that whole futuristic thing compared to WC, but WC is sexy, i mean those orcs? damn what sexy voice they got
