EBay Griping.....Getting hit with an unjust NPB

Several weeks ago, I bid on, won, and paid for a Royals Mike Sweeney jersey. A week and a day after paying, I got the jersey via UPS. About another week later, I get a purchase alert from ebay, that I was a non paying bidder. I email the seller, and he says he will take care of it. Today I get an email for a non-paying bidder warning.

The guy seems like a jackass, trying to get around paying ebay fees, by telling you to pay via his online store or call, and then filing a NPB warning to get the listing fees refunded. I must say, major jackass, and if you're buying any jersey, avoid ebay seller Mootown.

That's me wearing the shaq-fuing jersey at that.....

Isn't there a way to show Ebay that you paid (somewhat easy if you paid through Paypal) so they can erase the NPB warning?

Yeah, I've got to wait for the appropriate credit card statement to come.... but still, annoying that it's been paid for... and known all around.....

That really sucks. eBay really should start to better police their site. The negatives are starting to far outweigh the positives.

Yeah. Damn e-bay for not being omniscient and omnipotent. I bet they hire the people to be assholes. It isn't e-bay's fault. If you don't like e-bay don't use them.

Im surprised ebay is so hesitant to help you out, they usually tend to be punctual about things that cause them to loose money, and tend to look the other way for things that make them money.

Did you already give the seller positive feedback? If not, threaten negative!

I sell a lot on ebay, I think their fee's have gotten out of hand...but I don't think the negatives have come close to outweighing the positives yet...I do get a ton of spam email from alleged ebay and paypal sites wanting account information

He has 28 negatives this month alone. I wouldn't have expected much good from the guy.

Why the heck would you bid on anything from a seller with that much bad feedback? I haven't bought anything on eBay in some time, but back when I did, the feedback rating of the seller was the determining factor on whether I bid or not.

thats how ed up ebay is they also got a portion of tha sale afterwards they have the proof you payed. they should make it to where after the sale is complete (payment from the bidder) they should lock the non paying bidder or anything that could hurt the bidder.

The seller has an assload of feedback. Also, a lot of negatives are poorly worded/formatted, this sort of lessens their impact for me. If you are going to leave a negative, tell me why, don't tell me that you are pissed off or to avoid the seller.

Also, negative feedback from a user who has little or no feedback of their own I tend to take with a grain of salt, unless it continues a pattern for the seller.

I've seen this company's listing before, their feeback is in the high thousands. It's weird that they would give you such crap like this, usually a big company like that would seem more trustworthy.

Well, I just sent the ebay fraud investigation department a nice fax with proof of payment, and other evidence that this guy is just trying to work the EULA to get his listing fees back.... we'll see how it works out.

/me no longer griping. After ebay was contacted, I get a notice a few days later that it was dropped. Still waiting to change the feedback, but still problem avoided.

BTW What are you drinking in that pic?

Looks like you have a glass of beer to the left, but that bottle is a mystery to me. Plus, its full.

To the left is a glass of Woodchuck Cider, and the bottle is straight up NYC water... it's how the resturaunt served water, a bottle for the table, and no one was drinking it.
