I'm not exactly sure if this is in the right spot. The main point of this thread is to request a certain type of PS3 component cable that is not too pricey and good quality.

Before I do that, I want to know if those cables will make any difference over my current cables. I bought some cheap (~$15) component cables for my PS2 years ago. They have been okay for games, but my PS3 internet browser looks really blurry. Basically, the cables are decent, but anything like small text looks like crap. I am not entirely sure if this is my cables or my TV. I have a 63" Rear Projection HDTV that only accepts 480p and 1080i.

So, will better cables make a difference, and, if so, what type should I invest in?

HDMI is the way young skywalker. I got a cable for less than $10 shipped. I think iit was monoprice.com or something to that affect.

Wasn't there a problem with the PS3 where it was downscaling stuff to 480p instead of upscaling to 1080i if your TV didn't support 720p?

Maybe thats your problem.

Isn't that just for games that only output at 720p. I am talking about the internet browser. Anyone know what resolution that outputs at?

And my TV doesn't have HDMI or DVI.

Hmmm In my experience the cable brand doesn't really make the picture better.... maybe there's some setting in the ps3 menus that you could tinker with.
