Here's the entertainment software listings from the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), Houston (HOU), Chicago (IL), Los Angeles/Orange County (LA), Sacramento (SAC) and San Jose/Silicon Valley (SJ) Fry's Ad(s). These prices are valid only for the dates listed in the subject line.

The items listed below are as they appear in the Fry's B&M Ads. If an item is listed as "SJ only", for example, it could still be on sale at other locations (i.e. - Austin, San Diego, AZ, GA, IN, NV, OR, WA), but it only appeared in the SJ ad. However, since these ads are not available online, I cannot confirm them.

If anyone knows of a website to view any further ads, please let me know.

Frys.com has Happy Feet on HD DVD listed for 24.99 when you search for it but when you see the actual product description it shows up at 29.99. Hopefully they have it on sale for Tuesday.

Is the game really that good?

I'm temped but I'm running vista and have heard that is runs really badly if at all on it.

And I'm afraid that 30 bucks is the best deal I'm going to find on it for awhile.

Just to restate what I've just learned. Houston and Chicago Fry's customers...the page 7 of your Friday ad is WRONG. It is page 7 from the 3/2 ad. Do NOT expect those items to be on sale.

I havent played it just yet, but the reviews seem pretty good IGN gave it an 8.2
http://pc.ign.com/articles/773/773803p1.html

As far as on vista im not sure of the performance, but its bound to improve as vista updates and hardware manufacturers release updated drivers. Yes $30 for a new release is an excellent price that probably will not be beat for a while. Just my opinion though

In my opinion, I havent' experienced a game like this since the first half life and system shock 2.

Also, the engine runs full dynamic shadows which is just amazing if you can run it.

Just wanted to let the TC know something. I've noticed you put which ad the deals come from such as DFW or SJ. I work at Fry's and our ads are company wide. I know this because sometimes they tell us to put up ads for porn titles but our store doesnt carry them. They send them out anyways though because all ads are company wide. Anyways, just thought I'd let you know.

EDIT: Also thought I'd let you know that at my store (Plano) we put new ads up on Tuesday, and Thursday - Saturday.

Can anyone vouch for custom robo arena?

I have Choushoujuu Mecha MG and thought that was pretty good. If it's along the same lines I might pick it up.

Thanks, that's good intel. But from my own personal experience, I've found that price variances and localization differences are reflected by what ends up being advertised in the newspapers. So, for example, I've rarely been able to get an item marked for sale in SJ only here in LA.

I've always thought that the corporate HQ sends out the sale items but that each region can basically pick which items to offer and and what price.

If, however, the pricing is determined on a nationwide scale, then I'm more than happy to drop the "DFW only", etc. That takes freakin' forever.

P.S. - I've NEVER seen a Fry's ad containing porn titles.

Yeah, how come we never seen any deals on Porn? Might be enough to get a young gentleman started on a collection.

So it doesn't seem like we've had any AMAZING Blu-Ray or HD-DVD sales since the B1G1F deal at Fry's, or the 1/2 price deals through Amazon. As a result, I don't have Rocky Balboa or Casino Royale yet. :(
