...What? It means "Cash In Face". I probably wouldn't use it for a craigslist pickup, but it's pretty handy for yard sales. Basically, if you show people the money, they're more likely to take a lowball offer.

Just got a $10 PS2... Has disc read errors, I'm gonna crack it open and fix it. Only came with a power cord, though.

Edit: And the PS2 had GTA:VC in it, that's kinda neat I guess. Wonder if they want it back?

No worries. It is a great method of getting lowball offers accepted because the sight of the cash, particularly being waved in the seller's face, has a great psychological effect.

See? This is a deal worth bragging about.

Its like you paid normal price for the controllers and got the games and system gratis...like the GameCube I bought from Goodwill for $10 just for the controller.

Except for Double Dash which I've been wanting like a fiend, it's all getting liquidated.

Cash in Face, got it.

Dunno if I'd ever have the guts to do it on a craigslist pickup though. :P

Picked up a few good deals recently, including:

6 PS2 games for $30:
Spartan Total Warrior
God of War
Resident Evil 4
X-Men Legends 2
NBA 07
Metal Gear Solid 2 SOL (disc only)

DS lite with 6 games for $70 (I just traded in the 2 least valuable ones to Gamestop for $17 credit)

Damn those are good deals indeed. The DS Lite with 6 games for $70...wow, that is spectacular.

I am SO glad I took a look at CL games n toys before I left work yesterday...some guy had listed "PS1 RPGs" listed with just a phone number, "all for $50" (great description, I know), and location listed as being right on the way home (gave the cross streets only).

I called him up and asked what he had.

Oh, nothing major, just FF7 complete (GH), FF Tactics complete (GH), and Valkyrie Profile complete.

Told him I would meet him at the 7-11 close by to his location in 5 minutes.

The discs, manuals, and inserts were flawless. The CD jewel cases, not so much - cracks here and there, and sticker residue. I offered him $40 for all 3, take it or leave it but he wanted $50 firm, so I countered with "$45 is all I have on me". He took it.

I took them home, triple checked the discs, cleaned the cases with Goo Gone and whatnot, and replaced the various jewel case pieces for Valkyrie Profile since that beauty is going into my collection. The other 2 are probably going on eBay, or maybe on the tradelist...haven't decided yet.

Eventually I will have a big ass update for my tradelist with a lot of these scores, but I just don't have the time for the next month or so.

What area?

The largest cities, or at least the most technologically reliant have the most activity I've noticed. So you will get a lot more listings in NYC, SF, LA etc. than you will in the Dakotas or Idaho or what have you.

But then, you also get a LOT more competition to buy the stuff especially the cheap and major scores, and LA is HUGE so it's often not worthwhile since the item is in the Valley or Pasadena or even OC.

Just check into it at least once a day, more depending upon how many listings the section gets.

Damn, that's crazy. But I think snotknocker is in your neck of the woods, at least in Massachusetts I believe and it looks like he's cleaning up everything before you get a chance to, hahaha. You should check out his scores in the Yard Sale thread...unbelievable, along with moeity's and moeity's partner.

Quick question, are these good deals?

a N64 with a green controller, a yellow controller and the following games:
Paper Mario
Conker
Wave Runner
Donkey Kong
Diddy Kong Racing
Excite Bike
for 80$ I know it's not a steal by any stretch, but I was looking on ebay, and figured with conker and Paper mario all the games were worth about 50 bucks... I may offer 50, what does everyone think?

Also, I've stumbled upon a guy with an overpriced ps2 with some games but there are only two I'm interested in. How much should I over for them?

Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles & Way of the Samurai
