Thats right. And this is when gamecube was $150.00. Heres the deal. i bought a bunch of PS1 games off of my friend for $20, then, I back copied all of them (i have a mod chip in my PS1). THen, using a coupon from EB (which doubled the tradein value of all the games) I traded them all in, getting about $140 in store credit. So, the 'cube turned out to be $12 that I had to actually pay, plus the $20 I paid my friend...$32.00 total payment! And I didnt even "lose" all the games I traded in, I copied them anyway. The staff were being a pain about the whole thing, but screw them anyway!! I ripped them off, and the greatest moment was when they realized i had ripped them off so much, so they asked me if I wanted any games, memory card, or controllers with it, I said NO! Ever since then, I have not spent a single cent at an EB store!

Getting a bunch of games for $20 is generally a good deal. Getting $140 in store credit for games you paid $20 for is a very good deal.

Keeping copies of games you don't own any more is not something I can condone, so I'm afraid I can't rate your deal as a whole. Also, EB has some of the better deals around, so screwing them over isn't really in the best interest of us gamers looking for a regular good deal.

yeah, you did really rip them off since the double points was a legit coupon and they still got the games, they could care less if you made copies. They got games, you go money, that's how trade ins usually work.

EB does screw people on trade ins so good for you. If I was going to go somewhere and trade stuff in Babbage's is the place to go, I was there and on the board it said they would give 30 for GCN Soul Calibur 2. Granted thats just mine but the staff was nice and the had some great GBA games I picked up on that buy 2 get one free used deal

Buying used games for $20 and trading it in for $140=good deal.
Keeping copied games=not good.

I wont comment on the piracy but the games and the credit you received were an excellent deal. I remember once walking into eb and the deal was "trade in any 2 non-excluded titles and get chrono cross for free" and I picked up 2 $10 games off their shelf and bought CC.

Yeah, definitely a good deal, everything but the piracy.

It is really easy to get good deals if you are willing to lie cheat and steal.

It is kind of funny how you all think it is such a badthing that i back copied all of my games when ALL of you are members of this site, which offers you free magazine subscriptions illegally, and posts offers that are illegal as well, such as the coupons from EA that were given to people who "bought" NFS, LOTR, etc. So, people, please, dont bullshit me.

I was unaware of the illegal magazine subscriptions. To be honest, I never paid much attention to the magazine boards, as I get too much junk mail as it is.

I did not take advantage of the EA deal.

When someone posts that they are a thief, I generally make it clear that I do not approve of such activity, so don't feel singled out. There are a lot of CAGers who do things which I do not condone (Walmart scammers come to mind immediately). Your post, which I have quoted here, is ludicrous. Someone else engaging in illegal/immoral activity does not justify you engaging in illegal/immoral activity, and you really shouldn't have to be told that. If you don't want people calling you a thief, don't announce that you pirate games, or, even better, stop pirating games.

And just because someone is a hypocrite, doesn't mean they can't have a valid point.

Stop being an idiot and take people's criticism like a man. These people are commenting as you asked them to. If you weren't willing to take some criticism you shouldn't have asked for people's opinions.

That's how the people here (and elsewhere) are. If they didn't do it, they will admit that it's bad, but if they also participated in it, then they try to say that what they did was fine. You are the same way. You can see that stealing magazines and lying to get coupons is wrong, but I still haven't seen you admit that backing up games is just as bad (a lot worse IMO).

just about all of us are basically "pirating" games these days. How many of us can honestly say we have never owned one rom in their life? I love the deal. Great job man!!!!

I understand the importance of everyones arguement against pirating however. Just trying to bring up the fact that roms are pirating as well unless you own the real game. And us rom users can generally have between 1 and 1000 games at our disposal with a click of a mouse. Old PS1 games don't really sell anymore so i wouldn't say he hurt to much by copying them.

I can honsetly say I haven't . In fact, I don't even know what a ROM is, lol.

But seriously, my argument wasn't about right/wrong and the grey area in between. I just don't appreciate someone grouping everyone together because a few people gave him their opinion, whether their opinion is right or wrong. If he wasn't prepared to deal with any negative opinions, he should not have asked what people thought.

How much did the mod chip cost? You should factor that in. :P

Anyway, like everyone's said, it's easy to get good deals if you're willing to break the law. I know you can get dozens of GBA games on a flash card for a fraction of what it would cost to buy them, for example, but I refrain from doing it myself.
