what do you guys consider the best racing game for PS2....xbox. .. or both ?

I personally like project gotham racing... and i find need for speed tracks to be too long.

gran turuismo 3 DUH

for xbox i would say pgr2 or moto gp 2.

The best on either system is EASILY Rally Fusion...

....just kidding......

I've always been partial to the first Project Gotham (even more than GT). Spend $15 and pick it up.

I liked need for speed underground alot, i liked customizing the cars

Xbox= TOCA 2
PS2= GT3 Well, at least until you keep running those endurance races and NEVER, EVER get the F1 car as a prize. Dammit!!

I love racers, heres my beef with project gotham 2, its not arcadey enough to be an arcade racer, and its not sim like to be a sim racer.

I find that owning GT3 and NFSU is a good combo to have, get the PS2 version of NFSU for online play or own the xbox version like I do for the great graphics. (both are cheap new and used)

Nice thing about PGR2 is that it has online play and dosen't seem to get boring like a true Sim racer dose with extended play.

NASCAR Thunder 2003: PS2

For a true racing game, I don't think anything comes close to GT3 (and most likely GT4 will have the crown soon). PGR is good, but it's Kudos system isn't so much about racing as drifting. NFSU has interesting upgrades, etc.. but its racing isn't nearly as tight as GT3. And I can't think of another racing game that's anywhere near as good as those three contenders.

I like PGR 2 more than GT3. GT4 looks pretty impressive though, but never really liked the way the cars handled in the GT series to begin with.

Burnout 3 will be amazing.

If your like me and you find the Gran Turismo series a little boring, the burnout series makes a nice substitute for arcade style racing action without the intense detail of a lot of the other games.

I have Burnout 2, which is quite good as a budget title, but I played Burnout 3 at E3 and found it to be truely amazing, complete with online racing and more "crash" action than you can shake a stick at.

I like Burnout 2, but it's still not really a "racer" ... it's more like Destruction Derby with some racing thrown in ... maybe Burnout 3 will change that.

Currently, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 on the PS2. Very exhilarating and tremendous fun.

I know this is a place to post the BEST games, but I definitely have to warn you about the worst: Auto Modellista by Capcom. Most of the time capcom's games are good, but this is one where the totally f#*ked up...do not get this game unless it is less than $1, then you can sell it to some idiot (like gamestop)

MY personal fav is GT3, but I haven't played many others. GT3 keeps you playing for a while and it's car options are awesome.

For pure fun and challenge, I would say Rallisport Challenge 2.
Very few racing games have held my interest while reamining fun and long lasting. Plus it had Xbox live support, which rocks, and gorgeous graphics...
For pure sim, I would say GT3

Nascar 2k3 is the best. Very competitive & action packed

PGR2 is overrated to me but still good.

I hated Rallisport & Colin Mcrae, they seemed like your out there by yourself racing,very boring to me.
