there is a goodwill on steinway street. it's right near the subway station when you get off. if you're coming from manhattan, you should be sitting in the front of the car. when you exit the turnstile, there is a divided path. take the one on the left. once you exit it's right there.

i have not been inside for a very long time. but they do occasionally sell video games. at one time they did have n64 games during those days as well as dreamcast games. in addition, they also have some modern electronics and toys.

there is another one, salvation army, at the same location. that one is on the rear exit of the train if you are coming from manhattan. when you exit the turnstile, it should be on the right [heading towards the token booth]. when you exit, it'll be right next to the station.

i also haven't been inside the salvation army for a long time. the last time i went i managed to get dark castle, a game hopefully you will never have to play. i don't believe you'll get a score if you went in. but it is pretty big in finding other goods like dresser drawers and clothes and those really old and ancient electronics like records, 80's tv sets, etc....

there is another thrift store about 2-3 blocks away from the good will store but i have never been inside as the store is extremely tight and i mean tight. it's like one of those corner deli stores and they have a lot of junk inside. you can imagine that it'll probably be really hard to walk around and look, especially when other people are around.

if you have the time, you can stop by and i can walk you around the block to show you where the stores located and we can see if we can find anything.

I don't live in the city, but actually in Staten Island.
This thread is great, because if I see a deal good enough in here, or a good place to find a nice deal, I'll make the trip over there.

i went to the goodwill store yesterday in steinway street queens and they had like 3-4 xbox games, the one on top was pac man [was in a platinum hit case]. the rest i don't know as i don't own an xbox and didn't bother to care. if you look outside the stores display, you'll see some pc games. one was shivering isles [oblivions expansion pack], a warcraft game [the one that has like 3 games or something or rather in that big box] and like 2-3 more pc games.

they also have some good audio cd's.

i have been to a "housing works" and "angel's thrift shop" on 17th street in chelsea. angel's folks told me it's rare for them to carry vid games. housing works is becoming overpriced in general.

one good place: street vendors at 207th street west of broadway. lots of guys selling used xbox and some ps2 games. they also sell used electronics. kinda random but very cool finds too.

going to goodwill at 181st tomorrow.

if you want to find some old stuff like saturn games and such and sometimes if you're lucky, systems, you could always check out those street or sidewalk junkers. i don't know what the technical term that they call them, but they're the people that have old junk in their house and such and sell them out on the sidewalks or a parking lot.

they used to have them near the 23rd street subway station [f,v train stop]. i remember that they used to be open on saturdays and was located near a parking garage but the place no longer exists. this was like 4-5 years ago.

i also remember one time that i went uptown manhattan [west side] but i don't remember the street and found a lot of these merchants and saw they had some retro games and systems. they were there around noon, could be earlier.

walk around projects in brooklyn for flea markets lol
