US vs China

We basically took over Iraq so that we could have an oil supply for the upcoming war.

I hope I'm wrong, and I hope 9/11 is the worst thing our generation will see, but I think we're in for something far worse.

The Chinese economy is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. I believe they are the 2nd biggest resource consuming nation next to...you guessed it, the US.

What do you think will happen when all of the cheap oil is gone? Do you think we'll just be like "you guys take half and we'll take half?"

Why's everyone worried about the oil... it's the helium we need to worry about. At the rate it's consumed now the world supply of helium will be depleted by 2010.

I personally think Iran is the next target, but I'm deviating from the standard point that yes, General tso's chicken is awesome! Kung Pao is a close second!

Did you by any chance happen to read a National Geographic from about to months ago? It had an end to cheap oil on the cover. Im just wondering cause they predicted a war with china as a posibility.

Nah, I've read quite a few articles on it, but I was just reading this one.

Well the OP is absolutely talking out of his ass. But, if there is a WWIII it most likely be China (for very different reasons).

China's economy is in very bad shape as a whole and they're desperately overcrowded. They look north to Siberia and see vast untapped amounts of natural resources. They also see large amount of room to allow their population to expand in Mongolia and Russia to their north.(If you read Clancy's The Bear & The Dragon it speaks on the same subject).

If China gets greedy and/or desperate and invades Russia, we'll get scared (especially with the chance of China getting ahold of Russia's national armory (i.e. nukes, biological weapons), we'll decide to help Russia.. with China's standing army of something like 2 million men.. it wouldn't be pretty.

edit - Finished this too quickly. There's also Taiwan to think about.. we keep a naval fleet "in exercises" near Taiwan at all times.. if China was to decide to take back "their wayward area".. we may very well end up involved with that conflict (Taiwan is democratic and we'd very much like to keep them that way). Not to mention if China got stupid (e.g. Japan and Pearl Harbor) and decided to pre-emptively take out our fleet so as to be able to take back Taiwan.. there's a war.

And it has nothing to do with racism mousin, its the current world situation.

Our next country to attack will be Zimbabwe. Damn Zimbabwians, with their fancy clothes, and perfect teeth.
