SEGA of Europe has announced Full Auto 2: Battlelines for PlayStation 3 - marking a shift in platform focus for the burgeoning car combat franchise, which was formerly an Xbox 360 exclusive. According to the firm, Battlelines will build on the first game's time-rewind "Unwreck" feature, ratcheting up the levels of environmental destruction and the strategic role it plays. "The destructible environments in Full Auto 2: Battlelines are both stunning and strategic, especially in multiplayer combat," says SEGA of America's Scott A. Steinberg. "The gameplay innovations of tactical destruction and team multiplayer vehicular mayhem combined with the tremendous power of Sony's PlayStation 3 console makes this sequel truly the next generation of combat racing." Full Auto had been one of the Xbox 360's major early third-party exclusives, but following mixed reviews and a fairly weak chart showing SEGA's clearly reconsidered its focus and decided to try it out on Sony's next-generation format instead. As well as an expanded, 20-level single-player game, Battlelines will feature six multiplayer modes playable online - including team-play variants - as well as more than 20 weapons and cars. There's no word on when Full Auto 2 will launch, but it will be on display at E3 next week.

I thought the first one was great. Yes it needs some fixes but I wish the sequel shows up on X360 as well.

It makes it sound like Sega is blaming the platform, rather then their own shitty game.

it is a mediocre game at best, very little hype, poor reviews....how were they expecting to have great sales.

It was one of the games I had been most looking forward to play. Loved the idea at last years E3, but in the end, it wasn't anywhere as great as they had talked about.

I heard it's more like 1.5 than a full 2.0. I dont agree it's abandoning the platform though.

I'm pretty sure there were at least rumors in the latest OXM or something where they were talking about a sequel for the 360. Either way, it's not going to break my heart as the first game was fun, but nothing amazing.

They can have it for all I care .

I think they made it exclusive to PS3 because it will be more of an update then a true sequel. Then when they decide on a sequel it will come to both platforms.

Well that's it, its all over. PS3 wins the next gen console wars. Oh well 360 you had a good run of it and Wii, well Full Auto Wii just sounds too weird to exist so you didn't even have a shot.

I played the Demo and this game was pretty bad for the 360. I would consider it for $20 or less but not for what It's current retail price is. Especially with the bugs. Bleh.

i think the main point was that sony can add 1 more title to their ps3 exclusive list. that kind of shit always makes brand loyalists cream their pants.

Meh. Sloppy 2nds for PS3. It will be in the bargain bin for 360 when it debuts on PS3.

Maybe MS is paying Sega to do it for that exact reason.

But seriously, as someone that played Full Auto, I can honestly say I don't give one insignificant if I never play a Full Auto game again. In fact, I think I'd prefer not to.

As awful as Joystiq is, (i think it was them) did point out that the only difference between the two games seems to be battle mode and a few extra cars.

It really sounds like a "Full Auto 1.5" rather than a completely new game.

And I'm sure if we all write petitions and cry to Sega, they'd content release the new cars for the Xbox version.

Sega needs to step it up a notch.

You'd have to find at least 10 people who gave a shit to get Full Auto 2 on the 360 first.
