Anyone received their copy of Valkyria Chronicles from EB Games yet?
Hi gang. Say, has anyone received their pre-order of Valkyria Chronicles from EB Games yet? Just a little worried that my pre-order hasn't arrived yet. The manager at my local EBG keeps telling me that there has been a delay on it since last week. Can anyone confirm this? Thx in advance!

Thx doctor_payne. Man, wth's going on with my EB... there's been a change in management lately, and all of the staff that I used to know are all gone. And the new manager there sure has a real attitude problem; not very nice to the customers. Oh well, guess I'll just wait a bit more. Thx bro.

Does anyone know if Left 4 Dead is supposed to be out today (that's what I've been seeing listed most places)? I've been under the impression that games usually only release on Tuesdays and sometimes Sundays or Fridays... but very rarely on a Monday. I have it preordered... but assumed it wasn't out until tomorrow (when I'm also picking up Naruto... wooh!)

Anyways, new question time. Black Friday is coming up, and even though our dollar isn't as strong, I've been thinking about possibly going to the states and picking up a cheap TV since they usually have better deals than our Boxing day. My question though is at the border, would I have to pay tax or duty or if there's something I should know if I decide to go. I went about 3 months ago, and spent about $400 on a bunch of stuff, told the border and there were no problems. I just don't want to go extremely early only to be stopped coming back because I didn't know a certain law or something, if I do buy a large TV. |

I can only speak from past experience, but I think you have a pretty low duty-free maximum for spending such a small amount of time in the US. The longer you stay the more you can bring back without paying for it. So I'd say you will probably be charged for buying a big TV.
Just looked this up: Canadians returning to Canada from the U.S., After each absence of 24 hours or more: You can claim up to CAN$50 worth of goods without paying any duties. This is your personal exemption. You must have the goods with you when you arrive and you cannot include tobacco products or alcoholic beverages in this exemption. If the goods you bring in are worth more than CAN$50 in total, you cannot claim this exemption. Instead you have to pay full duties on all goods you bring in. After each absence of 48 hours or more: You can claim up to CAN$400 worth of goods without paying any duties. You must have the goods with you when you arrive. Although you can include some tobacco products and alcoholic beverages, a partial exemption may apply to cigarettes, tobacco products or manufactured tobacco. http://www.visitwindsor.com/before%20you%20go/customs%20and%20immigration.htm |

Its what I've been telling all the customers who're like "GIMMIE A WII!". We don't have any. We should have some for the Grand Opening Sale (BEST BUY HAMILTON). Everyone should come visit me from 10-2 if they're in the area. |

Gimme a Wii! And a Wii Fit! And a Pony!
Seriously, though, is there another Wii scarcity on the way? One of my fiance's coworkers is looking to get a Wii for her family for the holiday. She has a ton of Airmiles saved up, but Airmiles doesn't have the Wii in stock anymore. I suggested she cash the points in for Zellers gift cards, and snag one while they're still in stock. How long until the Wiis have gone all Elmo on us? |
