man, they're gonna sell craploads of ps2s at a 100 bucks. i'll get one even tho i have a 60gb ps3.

You guys think this will be the beginning of a slim ps2 liquidation to make room for a smaller, more compact PS2? Maybe the dimensions of a portable DVD player? I'm asking because I'm willing to spend a few more bucks for a newer version PS2, but if this is the end of the line (LOL Tron) then I'll bite. Thanks in advance.

If this is the rumored price drop actually happening, then I gotta say that I wish they friggin did it in December or so, so then I could've gone back to BB and got back $30 from the slim PStwo I bought with my PRP gift card from my Xbox.

This is going to make allot of ps2 sell and if its a permanent price drop then its going to sell alot in christmas

Tempting. I have a slim one now but basically all my friends have told me that their on their second or third unit so I want to get a backup one just in case.

Second or third? All bought at full retail? I hope not. The fat model PS2s had disc read error and disc scratching problems and the slims.....

Well, I've heard a whole different batch of horror stories about them. Let's just leave it at that.

I have a silver slim as backup for my 50001 model fat PS2 and I have a 2 year PRP on the slim, so even if I do end up having a bad slim model, I can swap it out for a different one within 2 years. The extra warranties are a godsend.

What's bad about Slim's?

Nothing really. The models they're putting out are the result of years upon years of tweaking the thing. so if you were to buy a new one today, it should last as long as you take care of it. IAmtheCheapestGamer is paranoid...

Nice. Might be time to switch my fat one out as it is having problems with DVDs again. Or I could just try and fix it again.

About time. I'm fine as far as PS2s go - my fatty is still running strong with 0 DREs and no problems and my slim is working 100% too. I've heard that slims have laser problems down the line, but I've yet to encounter it, and my model was one of the first slims.

Perfect time to buy one will look hot next to my silver slim PSP i already have a slim PS2 and my launch PS3 plays PS2 games in HD but whats not to love about the best video game console of all time.

Yup. They used the holiday season to finish milking the $130 price point and have now hit the magic "everybody has one" price. I didn't expect to see it for a couple of months though.

Finally I will pick the PS2 up. I was waiting for this.

Looks like I'll pick one up and play the old metal gear game all over again.
